Celebration A good thing that happen in 1763 was the end of the French and Indian War. The French departed leaving the Indians behind to defend their land. The proclamation also meant that any land occupied by the Englishmen were to be left alone and return to the Indians. The Indians did not get along with the Englishmen. They did; however, have a better relationship with the French because they were more trustworthy.
