Who owned the land?

• The French and the British claimed the land in Canada and west of the Appalachian Mountains. This is what caused the French and Indian war.

• Lots of trees and mountains. Lots of valleys and is very hilly.

War• The British won the land and the

Indians were angry because the British were moving west. So they attacked some of their posts and forts.

• The British gave the Indians blankets with the smallpox infection on it.

What is the Royal Proclamation?

• It forbid settlers to move west of the Appalacian Mountain Range.

• The settlers weren’t happy about it so they moved west anyways.

• One of the guys that helped them move west was Daniel Boone.
