Images must be provided for new products, when there are changes to packaging/logo/design and/or changes to sizes.
Our preferred supplier is GS1. The GS1 photography studios provide affordable and professional digital product photography. They specialise in retail photography and their images are used by many major retailers. Engaging GS1 will ensure your images are accepted by Foodstuffs. www.gs1nz.org | [email protected] | 0800 10 23 56
If you choose not to use GS1 for your photography please use a professional photographer and ensure they follow these specifications carefully.
Alternatively, we also accept 3-D rendered images modelled on these specifications.
By providing images, you allow Foodstuffs to use the images within our Support Centre and stores within the North Island and South Island.
Please ensure that these specifications are strictly adhered to. Failure to do so could result in your images being rejected for use.

Reflections are to be avoided/minimised.

Product
We require all product images to be shot front on. There are two different approaches depending on the type of packaging, either straight on or overhead.
Product is not angled, rotated or tilted. Boxed products need two images. The product beside the closed box and the product by itself. Remove any additional packaging (e.g. cellophane).
Product is photographed on its own. There are no props or lifestyle shots. The only exeption is for Wholesale products in plain unbranded packaging (e.g. cardboard boxes), lifestyle shots are acceptable in these instances.
