Background and Rationale
(NATIONAL ) On July 4-5, 2002 MAAP spearheaded the Development of Maritime Research Networking in the 1st MET National Congress with the theme “Towards a More Responsive and Effective Philippine Maritime Education and Training” at Manila Midtown Hot Conducted follow-meetings with 17 various MET stakeholders and validated 2 issues on research constraints : Budget and lack of capability ( similar at MAAP ( SWOT analysis for planning)

• SY 2003-2005 - MAAP linked with International to
address issues and concerns and hosted international conferences to provide venue for networking with compatriots
• SY 2006-to 2009 - MAAP continuously link with
international agencies to sustain academic sustainability and competitiveness and conducted a Regional and National forum for possible collaborative projects within the region and has the intention to link co-maritime schools with international project partners for global competitiveness.
RECOMMENDATIONS
MAAP to
continuously be a pro-active agent serving
as a positive catalyst as we animate and contribute in providing solutions to problems affecting the community thru preparation of funded project proposals and/or initiating activities for human resource development, curriculum development, research development and community development needed for nation building.
