TISTR WHOWEARE:StructuralandComponentDurabilityAssessmentdivision(SCDA)isadivisioninMaterialPropertiesAnalysisandDevelopmentCentre (MPAD,)whichwas formallyestablished in1993underThailand InstituteofScientificandTechnologicalResearch (TISTR,),anorganizationunderMinistryofSciencesandTechnologyofThailand(MOST,). This Laboratorywas established through the Thai andGermanGovernment cooperation project.Since its establishment, SCDA has served as the first national neutral laboratory in offering comprehensiveservicesandconsultanciesinthefiledofengineeringmaterials,fatigueanddurabilityofcomponentstonationalandinternationalindustries.

WHATWESERVETOINDUSTRIES:Within the frameworkoftheThaiGermancooperation,knowledgeandexperiences inadvanced technologieshave been transferred to SCDA staffs through several training programs held in many renowned testinglaboratories in Germany such as TUV, Audi, BMW etc. Through the expertise and indepth Knowledge inadvancedtechnologiesgainedfrommanyrenownedtestinglaboratoriesinGermany,SCDAhasbuiltupastrongreputationoveradecadeinprovidingprofessionalservicesandconsultanciestoanumberofindustriessuchas

TISTR SCDA has been serving quality assurance testing, cooperation project forDesign/Production Validation testprogram,problemsolvinganddevelopmentofnewdesignorproductformanyThaiSMEscompaniesandwellknowninternationalcompaniessuchasSiemens,BASF,Bombardier,GeneralMotors,FordMotors,Mazda,PTTPlc.,ItalianThaiDevelopmentPlc.,(ITD),ASSTJointVenture,etc. Withlongexperienceandfullyequippedtestingfacilities,SCDAprovidestestingservicesrangecovering

By building up its own capacity and reinforcing extensive experienceswith comprehensive understanding in

physical test range from general materialproperties to sophisticated life timesimulation test of components andstructures, SCDA has geared towards beingthe first laboratory in Thailand to offercomplete endtoend R&D services byintegrating CAD/CAE software in buildingvirtualprototype,validatingtheFEMdesign,and verifying the prototype with physicaltest. Regarding the products specific

requirements, SCDA also provides assistance to customers in designing of experiments and construction ofspecialtestingapparatustailoredtospecifictestingparameterrequirements.

TISTR QUALITYSYSTEMANDACCREDITATIONS: SCDA/MPADrealizestheimportanceofaccuracy,validityandconsistencyoftestresult.

Weapplyprofessionalpractice toobtainaccurate result for customers. Highlyskilled staffs involve in theentire testingprocess starting from discussion of testrequirements to finalizing thecomplicated results. MPAD/TISTRoperated their management under ISO9001:2008qualitymanagementsystem. MPAD obtained ISO/IEC 17025accreditation from Thai IndustrialStandards Institute (TISI), a nationalcertificationbodyofThailand(APLACandILAC MRAs). The scope of accreditationencompasses mechanical, chemical,electrical and calibration fields. Forfatigue test, SCDA/MPAD is the firstlaboratory in Thailand who attains this

accreditation.Beingwidelyacceptedashighlyskilledandexpertinmechanicaltest,mostofSCDA/MPADstaffsjoinedTISIas technicalexpertsand ISO/IECassessors fornational laboratoryaccreditationprogram. WealsosupportedTISItoestablishanationalpracticeformechanicaltestandguidelineforuncertaintyofmeasurementinmechanicaltesting.
