The objecves of the MHPE program are to provide teachers of health professionals, including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, densts, speech therapists and others, with the capacity to implement and improve their educaonal programs and to conduct educaon research related to regional and naonal health priories. The MHPE-Canada focuses on the acquision of competencies and abilies (knowledge and skills), relevant for innovave medical and health professions educaon in Canada. The MHPE-Canada is a 2-year, part-me program that is mostly distance-based, but includes two 3-week campus-based courses (one per year) and thesis supervision/mentorship offered by local experts in the field. PROGRAM OUTLINE understand and crically evaluate the theorecal and empirical literature as it relates to educaon for the health professions; design, plan and implement a relevant course for health professionals based on current principles of learning and instrucon; demonstrate the ability to provide scienfically based advice and help to teachers, curriculum commiees, or management of an educaonal instuon; demonstrate teaching skills and innovaon implementaon skills; conduct an empirical study on a topic of relevance to the field, including the formulaon of a queson of interest, the design of the study, collecon of reliable and valid data, elementary stascal analyses relevant to the data collected and wring a report on the findings. Alternavely, one can choose to design an assessment plan, skills training program or course, applying the principles underlying the design, planning, implementaon and evaluaon plan. The objectives of the MHPE program are to provide teachers of health professionals, including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, dentists, speech therapists and others, with the capacity to implement and improve their educational programs and to conduct education research related to regional and national health priorities.

The MHPE-Canada focuses on the acquisition of competencies and abilities (knowledge and skills), relevant for innovative medical and health professions education in Canada. • demonstrate teaching skills and innovation implementation skills;

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Application requires:• Statement of Intent (max 2 pages) • Current CV• Letter of Support (max 2 pages) from

department or program chair outlining support for protected time

• Description of an Educational Problem or Issue that interests the applicant (max 1 page)

2. Must be received by the 3rd Friday in December

3. The program will start in early July

competitive admission process are accepted in
