In many cases, it can be crucial that the private sector plays an active role in addressing the future electricity needs of a country. This will reduce the funding burden on governments, relieve the borrowing requirements of electricity generating companies and introduce generation technologies which a company may not consider part of its core function but which may play a vital role in the future electricity supply options.
