Overview
What are CAIs?
• Our starting point definition : initiatives that engage citizens in the energy
transition by sharing resources and benefits, and involving them in decision making
• Examples identified: energy communities, purchasing groups, ecovillages …
The hypothesis
On the one hand, CAIs affect the Energy Transition by triggering social innovative
processes. On the other hand, the Energy Transition necessary to reach Paris
Agreement objectives requires deep social changes that can be brought by CAIs
