General Description: _ A visiting employee of Kimberly Clark gave a presentation and resume feedback from the perspective of potential employers. ____ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: _ The purpose was to provide an opportunity for member professional development, leading to members being able to obtain internship and co-op experience and therefore further their career goals.___________ III. Overall Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): _ The event was successful, with several members expressing appreciation that such an event could be organized specifically for TBP and moreover feeling that the ability to connect with KC specifically was valuable. Overall Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): _While this event and its predecessor last year have had high attendance, the impression of the officer board is that this event format doesn’t facilitate connections effectively and can be intimidating. Some people stood around and did not talk to anyone. We decided that in the future this event should include activities and/or games to encourage active participation. VII. Overall Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): _The event was the most well-attended initiate event and proved to be a good opportunity for socialization. General Description: _Tau Beta Pi participated in the national Make A Difference Day event, completing a one-day community service project at an assigned location._____ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: _The purpose was to contribute to TBP’s goal of being an active force in the local community._ III. Organization & Administration: (in conjunction with another group?) _x_ Yes ___ No _Coordination of this event was provided by Michigan Tech Student Activities. TBP registered as a participating organization. This year, 569 students from 76 student organizations volunteered at 47 different service sites. IV. Cost & Personnel Requirements: _none V. Special Problems: _This year brought up the issue of determining whether members could participate in the event with another organization and still have it count towards their event requirements for TBP. The officer board decided to reject this request and require that members participate in the TBP group in order for the event to count._____ VI. Overall Evaluation/Results (Be Specific): _Due to its past success, this event has become a recurring event for TBP. Regular member attendance has increased from previous years. VII. TBP members were involved in several parts of this effort.__ II. Purpose & Relationship to Objectives of TBP: _As members of the greater Houghton and Calumet community, it was only natural for us to support such a major event in any way possible, allowing us to foster better relationships with community leaders.
