Cornwall Airport Newquay Cornwall Airport Newquay is the UK’s newest airport with one of the longest (2,744 metres) runways in the UK.
It has uncongested and segregated airspace, and direct access over the sea on the north coast of Cornwall. It is publicly-owned by Cornwall Council and has one of the UK’s largest planning free environments, including a 50-acre business park.
Goonhilly Earth Station Goonhilly Earth Station is a privately owned fully operational satellite telecommunications teleport with space vehicle tracking and communications facilities on the south coast of Cornwall.
It is also home to the South West Centre of Excellence in Satellite Applications, one of five such centres in the UK to help accelerate the development and take-up of satellite applications.

Both Cornwall Airport Newquay and Goonhilly Earth Station fall within Cornwall’s Aerohub Enterprise Zone, a UK Government designation which offers tax incentives to encourage inward investment and job creation. Together they offer a complete launch and tracking solution to commercial space operators.
Spaceport Cornwall is a key priority for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), whose job is to drive economic growth and the creation of quality jobs in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The LEP has identified space as a major opportunity for Cornwall to win global market share in an emerging and fast-growing market.
By building on the nationally significant assets at Cornwall Airport Newquay and Goonhilly Earth Station, Spaceport Cornwall will contribute significantly to the local and UK economy while promoting science, research and innovation to a new generation.
The LEP is also working collaboratively with three other Southern England LEPs to support delivery of the Government’s National Space Policy and key pillars of its Industrial Strategy.
