Open Sky Co-operative provides programs for adults who face barriers due to social, development or mental health challenges. Open Sky is located on an 11-acre farm in Middle Sackville, and can accommodate live-in residents, as well as day participants from the local area. We learn to raise poultry, goats, and organic food in our gardens and greenhouses. We eat much of the food we produce, prepared in our teaching kitchen. During the wintry months, we still farm in our all-season greenhouse. We also enjoy practicing our life, personal and independent living skills, as we cook, clean, take workshops, and do social and recreational activities together. The work, learning, social and physical activities are all good for the mind, body and spirit. Mental Health First Aid is a core skills-building program that Open Sky can also provide to other groups upon request. Volunteers are welcome at Open Sky!
