This one-day course is for those currently working in the building or property industry and who would benefit from gaining a general understanding of the property development process.
The aim of this one-day course is to explore the complex factors which will affect the decision to undertake a development.
By the end of this course you will understand the prevalence of risk in property development; how to identify specific risks in the development process; the time value of money and the valuation principles influencing property development decisions.

PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT ESSENTIALS
DOES YOUR DEVELOPMENT STACK UP?
This three-day course is aimed at those people who would benefit from a more developed understanding of the complexities of property development in Australia.PRE-REQUISITE: Participants need to have completed the Property Development Essentials course or have sufficient industry experience.
The aim of this course is to examine the key factors which will impact the success of a project using a development case study.
By the end of the course, participants will have a thorough understanding of the property investment, development and construction industry and what is required to undertake a development. The objectives are to understand the necessity for identifying, measuring and pricing development risk; work within a group on a factual case study to experience how a major property development project is conceived and planned, and prepare and deliver the case study development proposal to the board.

Feasibility WorkshopThe Feasibility Workshop will help you realise the value of your land or asset and looks at the viability of a proposed development/redevelopment.
Risk ManagementThis course provides an introduction to identifying, measuring, pricing and managing risk.
Project ManagementThis course explores aspects of a project from design and initiation through to delivery, and deals with issues such as risk, quality, cost and design.
Legal Framework & Dispute ResolutionThis course ties the legal issues of property development back to risk mitigation and gives you an awareness of dispute resolution and methodologies available to prevent disputes.
Complete 3 out of the 4 electives below + a major project developed by RMIT to receive your:

THE FOUR KEYS TO DEVELOPMENT SUCCESS
Property Development Electives are for those currently working in a property development role and have strategic gaps to fill.
PRE-REQUISITE: These courses are also for those who have completed the Property Development Advanced course and have some level of experience in the industry.
The Property Development Electives provide an understanding of specific issues which relate to the successful outcome of a property development. Each elective is designed to enhance the management performance of its participants.
These one-day courses are each designed to be undertaken as an elective towards the Property Development Industry Diploma; however, each elective may be taken as a stand-alone course.
The Feasibility Workshop will help you realise the value of your land or asset. It looks at the viability of a proposed development/redevelopment and attempts to answer one main question: will the development work and should you proceed with it?
To overview the major risk management concepts developers need to understand, and an introduction to tools such as market analysis, risk measurement and effective strategies for dealing with risk in property development projects.
By the end of this course you will understand the feasibility process, have the skills to run a feasibility model and understand the importance of validating inputs and assumptions.
The objectives are to understand why some property development projects fail and others succeed, explore market cycles and the importance of timing for a project, and uncover strategies for managing risk. By the end of this course, participants will be prepared to identify, evaluate and manage the risks in a property development project.
