PREFACE
Government Girls Degree College Maneri Swabi is situated at a very ideal location in Swabi. A network of roads connects the college
to different areas of Swabi and outside Swabi including Topi, Buner, Gohati, Mardan, Gandaf etc. The need to establish a Government
run educational institution for the people of Swabi was felt intensively since long, which led to the establishment of this College in
1986. It is upgraded to Degree level in1988. The college offers courses, both in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities and,
thisefore, satisfies the need and taste of the society from different angles.
The college building is spread over an area of 50 Kanals with well-ventilated classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a library with an
attached reading room, spacious hall, and green lawns which add to the beauty and grace of the building. Highly qualified, competent,
experienced and dedicated teachiss contribute honestly for the achievement of aims and objectives of the college. The foremost
objectives are to exploit and refine moral, mental and intellectual capabilities of students in order to develop a balanced personality
and an ideal character. Moreover, efforts are made to introduce Islam as a momentous force in the lives of the students.
Since, Islam raises human being to the height of humanity, hence education is imparted in such a way that the students should turn out
to be true and exemplary Muslims—ideologically as well as practically. We firmly believe in the bright and brilliant future of our
beloved country, Pakistan. Special attention is paid to enhance national integrity and solidarity among the students. At intermediate
level, this College is affiliated with the B.I.S.E. Mardan and at Degree level with Women University Swabi.

GENERAL ADMISSION RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Admission process starts on the date announced by the admission committee and continues according to the schedule of BISE
Mardan / Women University of Swabi at the relevant levels. 2. In case of availability of online admission facility for a particular level of studies, candidates shall apply online and hard copies
of their application forms along with required documents shall be submitted to the college. 3. The application form duly filled by the candidates shall be supported by attested photocopies of the following documents:
a) SSC Certificate for admission at any level of studies
b) Detailed Marks / Provisional Certificate of the last exam passed
c) Character Certificate issued by the learning institution last attended. Where the candidate has passed the last
examination in private capacity such certificate shall be signed by a gazetted officer.
d) Domicile Certificate
e) Self / father CNIC / Form B
f) Three colored photographs
g) Quota eligibility certificate in case a candidate applies for a specified quota notified by the government, e.g. Sports or
Education Employees quotas, etc.
h) Migration Certificate for candidates having passed their examination from other than BISE Mardan / Women
University of Swabi.
i) Affidavit as per specimen.
Note: Migration certificate-(h) and affidavit in light of Supreme Court decision for refraining from politics-(i) will be obtained
from the candidates at the time when their admission is confirmed.
4. Applications which are not registered within due date, whether online or manually, shall not be considered for admission. 5. The principal may keep 10 % of the total number of seats in each faculty for 15 days for meritorious students who may not turn
up for admission within the prescribed time for admission due to unavoidable circumstances. The minimum marks declaring a
candidate as meritorious will be determined by the concerned committee of the college.

6. If a student applies for admission one or more years late (maximum up to three years) then she shall produce an affidavit to the
effect that she has not been admitted to any college / institution previously and she is availing the opportunity for admission for
the first time.
7. Students passing in supplementary examination are not eligible for admission in the academic year in which he has passed the
examination.
8. Students who failed in any class or did not appear in the examination or discontinued their studies are not allowed re-admission
in the same or lower class.
9. Students failed in one or more subjects are not allowed to take admission in Part-I of Intermediate and Degree,
10. Students placed in “E” grade in SSC exam are not allowed admission in 1st Year in any faculty / group. Candidates who obtain
less than 45% in the last examination passed are not allowed admission to 3rd year / Degree Part-I.
11. General conditions as well as conditions specific to particular faculty/group or subject for admission to the Intermediate and
Degree Level are those set by the concerned Education Board or University for the relevant level, faculty or subject.
12. No regular admission in any class is allowed to a candidate who has already passed equivalent examination in another faculty /
group or subject.
13. Candidates who fail to confirm their seat by depositing the required fee within the specified period shown on any merit list
shall lose their right of admission and his seat will be allotted to the next candidate in order of merit. However, if such
candidate(s) turn for admission at a later stage and vacant seats are available then such candidates may be given opportunity
before offering admission to next candidate(s) having lower stage on the merit list.

C. BISE Dues (For 1st year Students)

ii. Sports Fund Rs.80/- (As per BISE requirement)
FEE CONCESSION AND SCHOLARSHIPS:
i. Deserving students within the ambit of 10% of the total strength are given fee concession.
ii. Deserving and meritorious students are also granted financial assistance/prizes from Pupils‟ Fund.
iii. Besides these, scholarships like MORA, Fauji Foundation, and FATA etc. are also floated from different agencies.
iv. One financial assistance should be availed at a time.
v. Any of the above privileges is withheld in case a student is short of the required attendances, remain willfully absent from the
class- tests or internal examinations or shows poor result.

UNIFORM
Winter White Shirt and Shalwar with cuffs and color with white dupatta with prescribed colored lace (Navy blue for
F.A/ F.Sc. I and maroon for F.A/ F.Sc. II and black shoes and socks and black sweater/coat.
Summer White Shirt and Shalwar with black shoes.
IMPORTANT CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The role of the co-curricular activities cannot be denied in the character building of students. Keeping in view this objective, various
types of competitions e.g., Husn-e- Qirat, Naat Khwani, Debates etc. are held regularly to flourish the sense of competition among the
students. All the college students are invited to take part in these activities enthusiastically. Prizes, Certificates are awarded to the
winning students in the annual day function held at the end of the session.
TUTOR
A tutor maintains the academic, co-curricular, personal and family record of each student attached to his. She examines her training
and educational evaluation and through the chief tutor, keeps contact with parents of each student.
SPORTS
Mental growth and physical development is must for a healthy mind. To enhance mental abilities and physical potentialities of the
students all facilities of sports and training are provided. The college students have been showing commendable performance in the
board and university tournaments for the last few years and have won distinctions in some games.

COLLEGE MAGAZINE
To sharpen the intellectual abilities and literary skills of the students, GGDC Maneri publishes its annual magazine Fanoos, which
consists of three sections in English, Urdu and Pashto. All the college professors and students are invited to furnish their contributions
to the magazine. The articles are judged by the editorial board and good creative essays, short stories, poems etc. are selected for
publication.
LIBRARY AND READING ROOM
A valuable asset of the college is its library, which consists of sufficient number of books that are issued to the students for a fortnight
period. This period may be extended provided that the same book is not required by an student. A student can borrow one book at a
time and he is liable to a fine of Rupee 1 per day, if he fails to return it in due time. In case of loss of a book or any damage to it, the
students concerned has to either replace it or deposit three-fold price in the government treasury. Journals, reference and text books
may be studied in the library but cannot be borrowed. The library reading-room has adequate reading facilities where journals and
newspapers are placed for reading. Library is a silence zone where chattering is not allowed.
OFFICERS AUTHORIZED TO TAKE DISCIPLINARY ACTION
The following persons are authorized to take disciplinary action by way of imposing penalties as specified under the heading “Range
of Penalties”.
i. The Chief Proctor
ii. Disciplinary Committee
iii. Principal of the College

Any penalty enumerated under the heading “Range of Penalties” may be imposed by the Principal or Chief Proctor of the college
upon the recommendation of a Teacher, Head of Department, Librarian, Hostel Warden, College Controller of Examination, In-
charge Sports, Head of any College Society, Discipline Committee and College Council.
RANGE OF PENALTIES
The following penalties may, for act of indiscipline or misconduct or for sufficient reasons, be imposed on a student, namely:
i. Written warning and information to the guardian
ii. Fine from Rs.100 to Rs.5000
iii. Suspension from the Class/Department/College/Hostel/Mess/Library/ or availing of any other facility
iv. Suspension or cancellation of scholarships, fellowship or any financial assistance from any source or recommendation to
that effect to the sanctioning agency
v. Recovery of pecuniary loss caused to college Property
vi. Debarring from participation in sports, debates, different societies, academic or refreshing tours and other such activities
vii. Disqualifying from holding any representative position in the Class/ College/ Hostel/ Mess/ Sports/ Clubs and in similar
other bodies
viii. Hostel shift and between Morning/Evening shifts
ix. Expulsion from the College/Department/Faculty/Hostel/Mess/Library/Club for a specified period.
x. Debarring from an examination
xi. Issue of Migration Certificate xii. Issuance of character certificate with adverse remarks xiii. Prohibition of further admission or re-admission xiv. Struck-off from the college roll for the current academic year/session or for any extended period.
xv. Absent fine Rs.10/- per day
xvi. Fine Rs.100/- paper if absent from a paper during home exam.
xvii. Fine Rs.50/-paper if failed in home exam.
xviii. Fine of Rs.500/- for Mobile phone.

SUSPENSION OF STUDENTSHIP
Any student against whom a charge of misconduct has been initiated may be suspended from the college by the Principal which shall
continue till the final decision of the competent authority. A review of disciplinary action /actions initiated against a student would lie
with the officer issuing the orders within seven days and an appeal would lie against the orders of the authorities mentioned in these
Rules to the College Council.
AMENDMENT AND ANNULMENT OF RULES
The Principal in consultation with the College Council is competent to amend the rules or regulations, except those related to
admission policy, in the interest of the institution.
BAN ON POLITICAL ACTIVITIES
In the light of the Supreme Court verdict which reads as under. “Students’ indulgence in political activities in the college shall be
strictly prohibited.” “We, therefore, hereby direct that at the time of admission to an educational institution the student and his
parent/guardian shall give an undertaking that the student shall not indulge in politics failing which he shall not be allowed admission.
And if after the admission, he violates such undertaking i.e. “indulges himself in politics” he shall be expelled from the institution
without any further notice. All the educational institutions shall henceforth seek and obtain similar undertaking in respect of all
existing enrolled students. It is explained that the finding with regard to “indulgence in politics” given by the Head of institution under
his seal and signature shall be final and shall not be questioned except only before the Supreme Court”.
NOTE: Every effort has been made to provide updated information in this document. However, the college administration reserves
the right to make any changes whenever it deem it necessary without any notice. In all cases, where rules/regulations are silent or
where there is difference of opinion about their interpretation, the decision of the College Council shall be final.
