This is a full-time two-year, or part-time three-yearMaster's programme comprising theoreticalinstruction, practical work and personal research.

 Degree summary 

The programme offers practical experience in advanced conservation,fixed (conventionally prepared and resin-retained designs) andremovable prosthodontics, and implant-supported prostheses for singlemissing teeth, partial or completely edentulous cases, alongside anintroduction to occlusion and the range of diagnostic proceduresrequired to ensure effective planning and design of oral reconstructions.Trainees are also introduced to digital workflows in dentistry. Please notethat the module structure and assessments are under review with thescope of merging some modules and reducing the assessments,aligning ILOs and improving the learning experience and content. Thenew changes will take place during the 2019-20 academic year andcomplete module information will be updated when approved.

// The programme offers an intensive programme with a strongpractical emphasis. Students benefit from first-class facilities whichprovide unique, seamless training in specialist dentistry, includingpractical classes in the operative technique laboratory.Approximately two-thirds of the programme is allocated to clinicaland laboratory work for patients.

The programme is delivered through one-to-one clinical and laboratoryinstruction, seminar teaching, lectures, journal club, individual workincluding a research project, self-directed learning and problem-basedlearning.

 Degree structure 

Mode: Full-time: 2 years; Part-time: 3 years

Location: London, Bloomsbury

Students undertake modules to the value of 360 credits. All modules arecompulsory. Year one consists of core modules (180 credits). Year twoconsists of core modules (90 credits), and a dissertation (90 credits).Year three (Speciality/Advanced Training only) is not credit bearing.

DISSERTATION/REPORT

// All students undertake an independent research project in year two which culminates ina dissertation of approximately 13,000–15,000 words.

 Your career 

The majority of graduates continue their progression to gain entry to theprosthodontic specialist list.  Following that career trajectories includeSpecialist private practice, hospital, or academic placements.

 Entry requirements 

All applicants must hold an approved dental qualification and have aminimum of two years' clinical experience post-qualification.

English language proficiency level

If your education has not been conducted in the English language, youwill be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level ofEnglish proficiency.

The level of English language proficiency for this programme is: Good.
