National Protected Areas Database System

• Brazilian Government is offering a web based database system to the IABIN Countries

• PATN is organizing a Training workshop to the countries that intend to adopt the system

PATN Data Content Grant• PATN will be launching at the end of May 2008 the

“Request for Proposals”• US$ 100,000 available to proposals of US$ 10,000• Focus on “Data Digitizing Activities”• Data must be compatible and accessible by PATN

Database / World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA)• The IABIN Countries can:

– Do data entry at PATN Database web based interface.– Adopt the National Protected Areas Database System offered by

Brazil.– Organize and send digitized data to PATN Coordinating

Institution, following PATN Data Standards.• Regional initiatives are eligible
