3/4 ANTICSThis term, 3/4S have enjoyed learning about different Australian people and what they have become famous for. We learned about how the Royal Flying Doctor Service began and how it has helped people in remote areas. We held our breath when we found out that Weary Dunlop, a WWII surgeon, was nearly caught sneaking about the camp as a Prisoner of War. We were excited to learn about Ned Kelly and what he got up to. We have loved hearing Banjo Patterson’s, ‘Mulga Bill’s Bicycle’ and were even more excited to find out that he wrote Waltzing Matilda! We were very lucky to have a STEM Kit at our school this term – Virtual Reality. We have used it to explore different apps and come face to face with wolves, horses and even experience being in an underwater tank with a megalodon shark. The experience was a little too scary for Mrs Serafin who had to leave it up to the brave 3/4S students to continue in the tank.We have been learning to code games on the computer and always get very excited with our achievements in Scratch and Code.

KINDERGARTEN FIRE ENGINE VISIT AND TEDDY BEARS PICNICFor Kindergarten reward day they had a visit from Forest Hill Fire Brigade. The children were taught what to do if they were caught in a house fire and were given the opportunity to use a fire hose and have a look inside the fire engine.Afterwards they all had a teddy bears picnic.
