Search for a Publication Before Creating

Enter the title of the publication,. Use the % wildcard character to broaden the search

Limit the search by year

Other options to limit search

Create a Publication

If your search returns no results, click on the ‘Create Publication’ Button

Select a Publication Category

Select a category for your publication

Refer to the Publications Classifications Guidelines for more information on Publication Categories

Edit a Title

You can edit the title at any time before verifying

Complete or alter title details.

Add Bibliographic Details – In this case, ISBN Number, Edition and Publisher

Enter all relevant bibliographic details

Contact the Research Office if the Publisher does not appear

Add Research Codes

Add in the Research Codes

Click for more information on FOR & SEO Codes

At least one FOR and one SEO code must be entered

Attach Publication

Attach a pdf version of the publication or link to an external website

Insert a brief description of what is being attached

Select the attachment option

Locate the file on your computer or server

Add Authors

Enter all the authors listed on the paper

You need to identify whether an author is from UoM or external

Adding a University of Melbourne Author

Ensure you assign the correct department for each UoM author

Adding an External Author

Add external author details as shown

Link to an employee record if the author commenced at UoM after the publication date

Save the Publication

Save the publication by clicking on the save button

You can save the publication at any time

Assign an Owning Department

Assign an owning department

Choose your department as the owning department

Submit the Publication

Click on the Verify buttonClick on the Submit button to send the publication to your Publications Coordinator
