SANTA’S SACK
Once upon an Aussie Christmas,
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
went on strike. He didn't want to travel all over the
globe because he was too tired and hungry. When
Santa wasn't looking, he crept quietly past him and
crawled into his Santa sack.
On Christmas Eve, Santa opened up his sack to check
that he had all of his presents. Rudolph leapt out
quickly and Santa laughed at him. Santa gave him
some reindeer food and Rudolph was so happy that
he went and got ready to pull the sleigh.
Story by KCH and Mrs Hanns
BARNEY and the GORILLA ENCLOSURE
….Barney and Bob were at the
zoo in front of the gorilla
enclosure. Barney put one
hand up. The gorilla did the
same.
“Hey look!” said Barney. “He copies me!”
Barney threw both arms up in the air. The gorilla
copied. Barney stuck out his tongue.
Suddenly, the gorilla leapt out of the enclosure and
threw Barney into a wall. A zookeeper rang the
ambulance. “Why did this happen?” Bob asked the
zookeeper. “Well,” said the zookeeper, “sticking your
tongue out to a gorilla is very rude.”
Later, when Barney got out of hospital, he went and
bought a hammer. He then took his baby brother’s
toy, squeaky hammer and the real hammer to the zoo.
Barney went to the gorilla enclosure and threw the
real hammer in. The gorilla picked it up.
Barry hit himself over the head with the toy
hammer. The gorilla paused, and then...stuck out its
tongue.

TALES of THE SUPER SUCKER
She went all the way through the
teleporter to the other side and
dropped onto a ball of fairy
floss……… She fainted and woke up
in a little gingerbread house with a
little old lady. She was heating up the stove and
singing something about eating, ME!!!.......
Excerpts from Bella Jachim
……”OK!: says Jimi. “Fire this baby up!”
Massy turns the ON button.
BROOM! BROOM!
“OK!” says Jimi. “Test time! Stick it on my shoe to
see if it is a real super-sucker.”
“OK!” says Massie. She picks up the super-sucker and
sticks it onto Jimi’s foot.
“Ahhhh!”…….
Excerpt from Olivia Manzin
…...I turn it on, and guess what
happens next? Well, it goes out of
control. It pulls me forward into the
kitchen. No wonder Mum said not to
turn it on. Its as strong as a boxer.
I sweep into the loungeroom and there’s the cat,
having a snooze. It jumps up and the super-sucker
starts to chase it…...
Excerpt by Hannah Dunmore
ZOO THREAT-NUMBER ONE
The Random Fairy Floss Guy: When I first became
a victim of his evil wrath I’d never been so afraid in
my life. You see, the Fairy Floss Guy is a deranged
man who holds a grudge against every zoo employee.
He had intentions to physically hurt me, so he rolled
his stand down a hill, and sent it rolling at what I
estimate was 1000km per hour. My only escape was
to leap into our turtle’s exhibit pond. This then
drenched my socks, leaving me to carry them around
all day.

BARNEY and the PANDA CAGE
It all started when Barney was
cleaning out the panda’s cage, shovelling out his, you
know what I’m talking about. Anyhow, Barney was
sneaking around the panda, when all of a sudden the
most lazy creature in the zoo, jumps up on his toes
and starts bouncing around like a rubber ball, and
holding his fists up at his cheeks, saying,”come on!
Come at me!”.
Barney was as confused as a Queenslander at the
North Pole….
An interesting beginning by Charlie Slattery
THE RUBBISH
I was putting the rubbish out for
mum and I heard a scruffling noise
in the bin. I didn’t have a clue what
it was.
I put the rubbish in the bin and ran back inside.
The next day I went to put more rubbish in the bin,
and the scruffling noise was still there. I had a
search through the bin, and then, something pulled
me in; something furry, something with sharp nails.
“Ahhh!” I screamed…..
Great beginning by Charlotte Strong
THE GENIE
The blue smoke puffed around me and then faded as
the genie disappeared. The scene I had just
witnessed was unbelievable, but I do have the proof-
the tickets that I am holding!
The genie had told me that I could wish for anything
I wanted, for a price. But he wouldn’t tell me what
the price was.
I had wished for the first thing that came into my
mind; concert tickets to my favourite band….

THE YETI
A yeti! In the bathtub! It’s the
middle of a drought, and there is a
yeti in the bath. I stand there
frozen.
The yeti turns around and makes a
weird, shrieking sound, and then it falls out of the
bath, and flops around on the ground for a bit. It
crawls away and hides under the sink…...
Monstrous beginning by Rosie North

My favourite place is Fiji. I love Fiji because you get to go snorkelling, kids club
and you get to go to the beach. The
weather is mostly nice and sunny and
it’s not too hot there either. When you

might even see stingrays or little
sharks. At the beach you can build
sandcastles and go in the rock pools.
