PREAMBLE

The Club was incorporated on the twenty seventh day of May 1993 under the provisions of the Associations Incorporations Act 1984, ("the Act"), with the Registered No. Y17260-29.

The name of the Club is "The Port of Yamba Yacht Club Incorporated". hereinafter referred to as "the Club".

The Model Rules for the Incorporation of Associations, issued by the New South Wales Office of Fair Trading, shall not apply.

Definitions:-In these rules, except in so far as the context or subject matter otherwise indicates or requires:-

"Office Bearer" means a member of the Executive Committee holding the office of Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Treasurer or Secretary.

"Secretary" means:-(a) The person holding office under these Rules as Secretary of the Club, or(b) Where no such person holds that office, the Public Officer of the Club.

"Year" means the financial year of the Club ending on 30th June.

“YA” means the Yachting Association of New South Wales.

1. OBJECTS.

The Club has been formed to organize, encourage and assist in all forms of aquatic sporting activity based at the Port of Yamba and its surrounding area and may enter into any other activities as are incidental to the foregoing.

For this purpose the Club may form any Division of the Club to cater for a specific aquatic activity and may appoint a Sub Committee with delegated powers to regulate the activities of members of such a Division in accordance with the requirements of each sporting activity.

The assets and income of the organization shall be applied solely in furtherance of its above-mentioned Objects and no portion shall be distributed directly or indirectly to the members of the organization except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses incurred on behalf of the organization.

2. MEMBERSHIP.

(a) The membership shall consist of the following Categories:-

FAMILY Covering all immediate family membersORDINARY Covering one individual only, over the age of eighteen.SOCIAL Covering persons who do not partake in the sporting activities of the Club

but wish to join in its social activities. Such members shall be afforded all the privileges of the Club other than the right to hold office, the right to vote at general meetings of the Club, the right to participate in racing or cruising events organized by the Club and the right to nominate persons for membership, nor shall they have any part in the management of the Club.

JUNIOR Covering persons below the age of eighteen years who are not included in a family membership.

TEMPORARY Covering persons admitted to membership for such period as the Executive Committee may determine.

LIFE Covering persons who have been elected as such by the members in General Meeting in accordance with Clause 6(c) 2.

(b) Applications for Membership shall be in the form set out in Appendix 1 hereto and may include such additional information as the Executive Committee may require from time to time.

(c) The Executive Committee may set differential subscriptions or fees for each Category of membership and for membership of a specific Division of the Club. Life members shall not be liable to pay membership subscriptions. Membership fees shall be due on the first day of each financial year and shall be payable within two months of that date.

3. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.

(a) The Executive Committee shall control and manage the affairs of the Club in accordance with the Act, the provisions of this Constitution and any resolution passed by the members in General Meeting and may delegate such powers as may be necessary for the efficient running of the Club.

(b) The members of the Executive Committee shall be:-The CommodoreThe Vice Commodore, in charge of aquatic activities.The Rear Commodore, in charge of social activities.The TreasurerThe Secretary

each of whom shall have been elected at the Annual General Meeting, after having been duly nominated and seconded by members of the Club. In the event of there being no nomination for any position or positions on the Executive Committee, the Chairperson of the Annual General Meeting may accept nominations from the floor of the Meeting.

(c) The Executive Committee may appoint a member to fill a casual vacancy in the Committee, to hold office until the next annual general meeting.

(d) No Office Bearer may serve in the same capacity for more than three successive years.

(e) The members, by resolution passed at a Special General Meeting convened for the purpose, may remove a member of the Executive Committee.

(f) The Executive Committee may create such other Sub-Committees with delegated authority to manage such Club activities as the Executive Committee may decide. Members of such Sub-Committees need not be members of the Executive Committee.

(g) The Vice Commodore shall coordinate the activities of the Racing, Cruising and Junior Sailing Divisions and shall be, ex-officio, a member of the Racing, Cruising and Junior Sailing Sub-Committees.

(h) The Rear Commodore shall be the Chairperson of a Social Sub-Committee consisting of at least three other members.

(i) The Executive Committee may appoint any member to fill such Offices of the Club as it may decide to establish, such as Handicapper, Starter, Publicity Officer and so on.

(j) The Racing, Cruising and Junior Sailing Sub-Committees shall consist of a Chairperson, at least two other members and the Vice Commodore, ex-officio, who may also be the Chairperson.

4. MEETINGS.

(A) ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS

The Club shall hold an Annual General Meeting within three months of the end of its financial year on 30th June to transact the following items of business:

1. To confirm the Minutes of the last preceding annual general meeting and of any special general meeting held since that meeting.

2. To receive from the Executive Committee reports on the activities of the Club during the last preceding financial year.

3. To receive and approve the financial statements in respect of the previous financial year.

4. To elect members of the Executive Committee for the ensuing year.

5. To transact any other business on the Agenda submitted by the Executive Committee or by any member, notice of which has been received by the Secretary at least 21 days before the date of the Meeting.

(B) SPECIAL GENERAL MEETINGS

(a) The Executive Committee may convene, whenever it thinks fit, a special general meeting of the Club.

(b) On the requisition in writing of not less than 6 per cent of the total number of Family, Ordinary and Life members, the Executive Committee shall convene a special general meeting of the Club.

(c) A requisition of members shall state the purpose for which the meeting is to be called, shall be signed by the members making the requisition, may consist of several documents in similar form, each signed by one or more members making the requisition and shall be lodged with the Club Secretary.

(d) If the Executive Committee fails to convene a special general meeting to be held within one month after the date on which the requisition is lodged with the Secretary, any one or more of the members who made the requisition may convene a special general meeting to be held within three months of that date.

(e) The business at a special general meeting shall be restricted to that shown on the notice paper as being the purpose for which the meeting is convened and no amendment may be proposed or accepted to any draft resolution specified in the notice paper.

(C) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS

Executive Committee meetings shall be held at least three-monthly, or more frequently as may be decided by the Executive Committee. Other club members may be requested to attend meetings of the Executive Committee to deal with specific issues.

(D) MEMBERS’ GENERAL MEETINGS

1. General meetings of the Club members may be held from time to time when considered expedient by the Executive Committee. This may be to disseminate information, to gauge interest and opinions on certain matters or when a members’ vote is considered desirable.

2. The business at members’ general meetings may also include:

(a) Confirmation of the minutes of the preceding members’ general meeting and consideration of any business arising therefrom,

(b) A financial statement by the Treasurer covering the preceding period,

(c) A report by the Secretary on any correspondence entered into by the Club since the preceding member’s general meeting,

(d) The report(s) of the Executive Committee and of any Sub-Committee meetings held since the preceding members’ general meeting and

(e) Any other business that may be brought forward by the Executive Committee or by any member.

5. NOTICES OF MEETINGS

Each member appearing in the Club’s Register of Members shall be given notice of Members’ Meetings, specifying the date, time and place and type of the Meeting, and, if a Special Meeting, the business to be transacted, as follows:

(a) In respect of Annual General Meetings, at least 14 days before the date fixed for the Meeting.

(b) In respect of Special General Meetings, at least 21 days before the date fixed for the Meeting.

(c) In respect of Members’ General Meetings, at least 7 days before the date of the meeting.

6. CONDUCT OF MEETINGS

(a) CHAIRPERSON

At regular General, Annual and Special General Meetings, the Chairperson shall be the Commodore, or in his absence, the Vice Commodore; if both are absent, the members present shall elect by a show of hands any member who may be proposed and seconded as Chairperson of the Meeting.

At Annual General Meetings, the Chairperson shall be the outgoing Commodore until the end of the Meeting.

(b) QUORUM

At General Meetings, a quorum of five members shall be present within half an hour of the published time of the Meeting before any business may be transacted. If no quorum is present by the expiry of that time, then the Meeting shall be adjourned to the same day in the following week at the same time and place.

For meetings of the Executive Committee the quorum shall be three and for Sub Committees the quorum shall be two.

For the Executive Committee, meetings may be held at short notice and may be held by telephone if urgent action is required, subject to a quorum of three members and to the taking of minutes and subsequent reporting to the Members' General meetings of all resolutions and action taken at such Executive Committee meetings.

(c) VOTING

1. At Members’ General and Annual General Meetings, resolutions shall be passed by a simple majority on a show of hands unless a secret ballot is demanded.

2. The election of a Life Member shall be by secret ballot and shall require a majority of 75 per cent of those voting in person or by proxy.

3. A Special Resolution must be passed by at least 75 per cent of those present or voting by proxy.

4. Two adult members of an immediate family shall have one vote each at any General Meeting; Ordinary and Life Members shall have one vote each; Social members shall have no vote.

5. Only financial members of the Club shall be entitled to vote at any general meeting and only then if all monies due by him to the Club have been paid. To this end the Secretary and Treasurer shall confirm these requirements should a vote need to be taken.

6. The Chairperson of a Meeting shall have an additional (casting) vote, in the event of there being an equality of votes at any meeting

(d) PROXIES

Shall be in the form set out at Appendix 2 hereto and must be submitted to the Secretary of the Club by the due date specified in the Notice of Meeting to which they relate.

7. SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS

A Special Resolution must be passed at a Special General Meeting of the Club, called after the expiry of at least twenty one days from the Notice of the Meeting giving details of the proposed Special Resolution, in order to effect the following:-

(a) A change of the Club’s name

(b) A change of the Club's Constitution

(c) An amalgamation with any other body or association

(d) An application to register the Club as a Company

(e) A proposal to wind up the Club and distribute or otherwise dispose of its assets.

(f) Removal of a member of the Executive Committee.

8. DISCIPLINING OF MEMBERS

(1) For disciplinary matters a Disciplinary Committee shall be formed consisting of the Executive Committee, the Chairpersons of the Racing, Cruising and Junior Sailing Division Sub-Committees (if not the Vice-Commodore), the immediate past Commodore and one other member.

(2) Where the Disciplinary Committee is of the opinion that a member of the Club:-

(a) Has persistently refused or neglected to comply with a provision or provisions of these rules, or

(b) Has persistently and willfully acted in a manner prejudicial to the interests of the Club,

The Disciplinary Committee may, by resolution,

(c) Expel the member from the Club or

(d) Suspend the-member from membership of the Club for a specified period.

(3) A resolution of the Disciplinary Committee under Clause (2) is of no effect unless the Committee, at a meeting held not earlier than 14 days and not later than 28 days after service on the member of notice under clause (4) below, confirms the resolution in accordance with this rule.

(4) Where the Disciplinary Committee passes a resolution under Clause (2), the Secretary shall, as soon as practicable, cause a notice in writing to be served on the member :-

(a) Setting out the resolution of the Committee and the grounds on which it is based;

(b) Stating that the member may address the Committee at a meeting to be held not earlier than 14 days and not later than 28 days after service of the notice;

(c) Stating the date, time and place of that meeting and

(d) Informing the member that the member may do either or both of the following:(i) Attend and speak at that meeting;(ii) Submit to the Committee at or prior to the date of that meeting written

representations relating to the resolution.

(5) At the meeting of the Committee held as referred to in Clause (4), the Committee shall:-

(a) Give to the member an opportunity to make oral representations;

(b) Give due consideration to any written representations submitted to the Committee by the member at or prior to the meeting and

(c) By resolution determine whether to revoke or confirm the resolution.

(6) Where the Committee confirms a resolution under Clause (5), the Secretary shall, within 7 days after that confirmation, by notice in writing, inform the member of that fact and or the member's right of appeal under rule (9) below.

(7) A resolution confirmed by the Committee under Clause (5) does not take effect:-

(a) Until the expiry of the period within which the member is entitled to appeal against the resolution, where the member does not exercise the right of appeal within that period; or

(b) Where within that period the member exercises the right of appeal, unless and until the Club confirms the resolution pursuant to Rule 8 (5).

(8) (a) In the event of suspension the member shall forfeit all rights and privileges of membership for the period of such suspension and in the event of expulsion the member shall forfeit all rights and privileges of membership.

(b) In either event, the member shall have no right against the Club to claim a refund of the whole or part of his membership fees.

9. RIGHT OF APPEAL OF DISCIPLINED MEMBER

(1) A member may appeal to the Club in a general meeting against a resolution of the Committee which is confirmed under Rule 8 (5), within 7 days after notice of the resolution is served on the member, by lodging with the Secretary a notice to that effect.

(2) Upon receipt of notice from a member under clause (1), the Secretary shall notify the Disciplinary Committee which shall convene a general meeting of the Club to be held within 28 days of the date on which the Secretary received the notice.

(3) At the general meeting of the Club convened under clause (2):

(a) No business other than the question of the appeal shall be transacted

(b) The Committee and the member shall be given the opportunity to state their cases orally or in writing, or both, and

(c) The members present shall vote by secret ballot on the question of whether the resolution should be confirmed or revoked.

(4) If, at the general meeting, the Club passes a special resolution in favour of confirmation of the resolution of the Disciplinary Committee that resolution is confirmed.

10. ADMINISTRATION

A. PUBLIC OFFICER

(a) The Executive Committee shall ensure that a person is appointed as Public Officer.

(b) The Executive Committee may at any time remove the Public Officer and appoint a new Public Officer.

(c) The Public officer shall be deemed to have vacated his position in the event of death, resignation, mental illness, bankruptcy or insolvency, removal by the Executive Committee at a General Meeting or by taking up residency outside New South Wales.

(d) When a change occurs in the person appointed as Public Officer, the Executive Committee shall within fourteen days notify NSW Office of Fair Trading by the prescribed form.

B. CUSTODY OF BOOKS

Except as otherwise provided under these rules, the Public Officer shall keep in his custody or under his control all records, books or other documents relating to the Club.

C. COMMON SEAL

The Common Seal of the Club shall be kept in the custody of the Secretary and shall only be affixed to a document by the approval of a resolution by the Executive Committee. The affixing of the Common Seal shall be witnessed by the signatures of two members of the Committee.

D. INSURANCE

The Club shall effect and maintain insurance as required under the provisions of the Incorporated Associations Act 1994, together with any other insurance which may be required by law or regarded as necessary by the Club.

E. REGISTER OF MEMBERS

A register of members and their boats shall be kept by the Club, showing the name, address and date of commencement and class of membership of each member, together with the name of a boat owned by the member and having provision for noting the date of cessation of membership.

F. BY-LAWS

The Executive Committee may make By-laws for the good management of the Club and may from time to time amend or repeal such by-laws.

G. INSPECTION OF BOOKS

The records, books and other documents of the Club shall be open to inspection, free of charge, by a member of the Club at any reasonable time.

H. DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY

The Secretary shall maintain under his direction records of the business of the Club, including the rules, a register of members and their boats, minutes of all general and committee meetings and a file of correspondence.

I. DUTIES OF THE TREASURER

(a) The Treasurer shall ensure that all money received by the Club is paid into an account in the Club's name. Payments shall be made by cheques signed by two signatories authorized by the Club or through a petty cash system; all payments must have adequate documentation. Major or unusual expenditure must be authorized in advance by the Club at an Executive Meeting.

(b) The Treasurer shall ensure that correct books and accounts are kept, showing the financial affairs of the Club. These records shall be available for inspection by any member and shall be kept in the custody of the Treasurer.

(c) The Treasurer shall prepare statements of income and expenditure during the preceding period, together with the period’s end balance(s), for presentation to the regular General Meetings of members.

(d) The Treasurer shall prepare Statements of Income and Expenditure in respect of the preceding financial year of the Club, together with a Balance Sheet drawn up at the end of that year, which shall be submitted to the members at the Annual General Meeting. A copy of the Statements of Income and Expenditure and Balance Sheet shall be submitted to the NSW Office of Fair Trading with the Annual Statement.

11. FUNDS – SOURCE

(a) The funds of the Club shall be derived from entrance fees and annual subscriptions of members, donations and, subject to any resolution passed by the Club in general meeting, such other sources as the Executive Committee determines.

(b) All money received by the Club shall be deposited as soon as practicable and without deduction to the credit of the Club's bank account.

(c) The Club shall, as soon as practicable after receiving any money, issue an appropriate receipt.

12. FUNDS - MANAGEMENT

(a) The assets and income of the Club shall be applied solely in pursuance of the Objects of the Club and no portion shall be distributed directly or indirectly to the members of the Club, except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses incurred on behalf of the Club.

(b) All cheques, drafts, bills of exchange, promissory notes and other negotiable instruments shall be signed by any two members of the Executive Committee or employees of the Club, being members or employees authorised to do so by the Committee.

(c) In the event of the Club being dissolved, the amount that remains after such dissolution and the satisfaction of all debts and liabilities shall be transferred to another organisation in the local region with similar purposes which is not carried on for the profit or gain of its individual members.

13. INDEMNITY

(a) The participation by a member in a racing, cruising or junior sailing event arranged by or on behalf of the Club, whether solely or in conjunction with other Clubs (incorporated or otherwise), is at such member's sole and absolute risk in all respects and the Club, its servants and agents, shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage, howsoever occasioned to any such member or his property, whether caused by negligence of the Club, its servants or agents or otherwise.

(b) A member suffering any loss, injury or damage as aforesaid shall indemnify and keep indemnified the Club, its servants and agents against all actions, proceedings, claims, demands and costs whatsoever arising as a consequence of any such injury or damage or actions, proceedings, claims or demands taken in relation thereto.

(c) In this clause, the word “member" shall mean and include the member, his spouse, children and guests.

14. MEMBERS' LIABILITY

The members of the Club shall have no liability to contribute towards the debts and liabilities of the Club or the costs, charges and expenses of the winding up of the Club except to the amount of any unpaid membership fees.

15. CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Membership shall cease upon failure to pay membership fees within two months of the due date, resignation, death or expulsion under the terms of Rules 8 and 9.

BY LAWS

(Adopted in accordance with Clause 10 (F) of the Constitution)

1. Each member of the crew of a boat engaged in a race, conducted by the Club and held under YA rules, must be a member of YA or an affiliated organisation or join YA after participating in 3 such races within a Club year.

Amended: 5 March 2003

2. Any person who participates in more than three aquatic events within a Club year, must be an Ordinary, Family, Junior or Life member of the Club or be invited to participate or be a member of a club with reciprocal racing rights.

3. The Club shall have three Divisions – a Racing Division, a Cruising Division and a Junior Sailing Division. All members of the Racing and Junior Sailing Divisions must be members of YA.

4. Any person participating in a race conducted by the Club who does not hold YA membership may, at the discretion of the Racing Sub-Committee, be granted Temporary Membership of the Club.

CLUB FLAGS

Club Burgee

The Club Burgee shall consist of black and gold quadrants as shown below. The burgee shall be flown with the black staff-side quadrant uppermost. The Club logo may be displayed in the gold staff-side quadrant.

The Club logo shall consist of a representation of the Port of Yamba lighthouse over three sails with the letters PYYC in the bottom right hand corner.

Only boats registered in the Club Register shall be entitled to fly the Club Burgee or Officer’s Flag, however nothing herein shall prevent the hoisting of either on a boat or dinghy attached to a boat registered in the Club Register or belonging to the Club or on a vessel made use of by the Club for regattas and other special occasions.

Officers’ Flags

The Commodore, Vice commodore and Rear commodore shall be entitled to fly the following flags:

Commodore A gold swallow tail burgee with a black St Andrews crossVice commodore Same flag but with one black ball in the top staff-side quarterRear commodore Same flag but with one ball in each of the top and bottom staff side quarters

An Officer’s Flag shall not be displayed on a boat unless the Officer is on board. When two or more Flag Officers of the Club are on board the same boat, the flag of the senior Officer shall be displayed.

A past Commodore may, for as long as he remains a member of the Club, fly the following flag:

GENERAL BOATING RULES

1. Divisions

The Club has three Divisions for aquatic events, a Racing Division, a Cruising Division and a Junior Sailing Division.

2. Conduct

2.1 GeneralWhile engaged in Club activities on the water, Club members should behave in a responsible manner and with courtesy to other Club members and to the general boating public.

2.2 Consumption of alcoholMembers are reminded of the legal requirement that, for operators of recreational vessels, the permissible concentration of alcohol is less than 0.05.

LOCAL RACING RULES

1. Racing Rules of SailingAll Club races are conducted in accordance with the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing in force at the time, including the prescriptions and Addenda of the AYF, except as varied by these Local Rules and the sailing instructions issued for each series, regatta or event.

2. AYF Special Regulations

2.1 Categories of eventsThe Club’s events are held under YA Special Regulations Part 1. In accordance with Section 2.01, the categories that the Club races under are:Category 3 Offshore, overnightCategory 4 Offshore, daylight hoursCategory 7 In the river, daylight hours

2.2 Radio tranceiversWhile it is not a requirement of AYF Special Regulation 3.24 to carry a radio transceiver for Category 7 races, it is recommended. It is a requirement of the Club that boats participating in these events, excluding Junior Sailing dinghies, shall be fitted with an operating VHF radio. The frequency used by the Club is Ch 72 VHF.

3. Safety auditsAll boats must comply with the Category of an event in which it is entered. It is the responsibility of the owner to complete a safety compliance form annually and to notify the Club’s Safety Auditor. Random checks may be undertaken. Junior Sailing dinghies are excluded from this requirement. Dinghies are regularly checked for maintenance and safety issues by the Junior Sailing Sub Committee.

4. Racing programThe Club’s racing season is from July to June each year. The annual program may include the following series, regattas and events:

Group AThe Easter Regatta, held on Easter weekend.The Founding Fathers Regatta.Any races to which other clubs have been invited to send boats.

Group BAn offshore series (Category 4)

Group CRound-the-buoys series, held in the riverClub championships or annual pointscore.

Group DA Spring Twilight seriesA Summer Twilight seriesHoliday Twilight races

Group EWinter midweek series

Group FRegular off-the-beach Junior Sailing events including passage races in the river.

5. Conduct of races(Excluding Junior Sailing events)

5.1 StartingFor all racing events the Racing Sub-committee should aim to have formal start and finish procedures detailed in written Sailing Instructions or verbal briefing including, at least, a sound and/or visual signal, a designated starter, a starter’s clock properly set and starting/finishing times recorded by the starter or other independent person. Open events and regattas will have procedures in accordance with Racing Rule of Sailing 26 unless amended by the sailing instructions.

The Vice Commodore if present, otherwise the Principal Race Officer, or in his/her absence any other member of the Race Committee who is present, after taking into account any advice or other factors considered relevant such as types of yachts entered, experience of skippers, sea state, etc. may abandon or may postpone a race if at the time of the briefing, or any time between then and the start of the race, the wind strength is averaging over 25 knots in the area where the race is to take place.

5.2 Alterations to courseAny alteration to course, whether changing the position of marks or shortening course, may be made over the radio on channel VHF 72 or such other method detailed in the Sailing Instructions or at the briefing when such alterations are not done in accordance with Racing Rule of Sailing 32.

5.3 Races starting at the Yamba Shores TavernAll races which start at the Yamba Shores Tavern shall have a handicap start. The Preparatory signal shall be 1 minute before the start. This is to take into account the confined area of navigable water and the rapid tidal flow in the vicinity of the start line.(Amendment to Rule 26)

6. PropulsionTo get clear after grounding or colliding with another boat or object, a boat may use force applied by the crew of either boat and any equipment, including in the case of grounding, a propulsion engine, providing the boat does not gain an advantage in the direction of the course.(Amendment to Rule 42.3 (d))

7. PenaltiesIn all races, Rule 44 is changed so that the 7200 turn is replaced by a 3600 turn.

8. Person in chargeThe skipper of each boat which participates in a race conducted by the Club shall complete a Crew Registration Form and ensure that it is delivered to a member of the Racing Sub-Committee within 24 hours of the completion of the race, otherwise the boat will be considered as Did Not Start.(Amendment to Rule 46)

9. ProtestsAll protests are to be lodged with the Race Officer and accompanied by a fee of $25 which is refundable if the protest is upheld.(Refer Rule 61.2)

10. Manual powerBoats with a power operated keel or centreboard must leave it in a fixed position for the duration of race.(Amendment to Rule 52)

11. Appointment of race officialsAll races shall be conducted by the Racing Sub-committee which shall appoint a Race Officer as its representative for each series, regatta or individual event.(Amendment to Rule 87.2)

12. Sailing instructionsChanges to Sailing Instructions may be given orally at the pre-race briefing or over the radio on channel VHF 72.(Amendment to Rule 88.2 (c))

13. Protest CommitteeThe Protest Committee shall be a jury appointed by the Commodore and Vice Commodore.(Amendment to Rule 89)

14. Navigation hazardsThe track shown on course diagrams is indicative only. It is the responsibility of the skipper to be aware of navigational hazards. While every endeavour will be taken in setting courses to provide sufficient depth of water for all participating boats, it is the skipper’s responsibility to decide whether to participate in an event.

No course will be set which would require a boat, while racing, to pass through a hole in a wall.

No course will be set downstream of The “T” Piece unless the current is flowing upstream during that part of the race and there is no breaking swell in the race area. Refer darkened area on drawing A.

15. InsuranceAll boats participating in Club events shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $5,000,000.(Refer Rule K27)

16. Time limitsAll races conducted by the Club shall have a time limit, to be determined by the Race Officer.(Amendment to Rule 35)

1. Cruising programThe Club’s cruising year is from July to June. The annual program may include the following series and events:

Group BLady Skippers Day, held in conjunction with the Australia Day holiday.

Group CCruise upriver, often including stops at Harwood, Maclean, Lawrence, Ulmarra and Brushgrove, usually held on the October long week-end.
