In Q1 use Category Weights but use only one category called Q1 Assessment. Then in Q2 use Category Weights and use one category called Q2 Assessment. Then in S1 use Category Weights and add Q1 Assessment 35, Q2 Assessment 35 and then add your Exam category 30. video tutorial Slide 9 Exam Q1 Q2 35% 30% { 65% Using term weights and categories forces you to enter your Exam in Q2. If you want your exam to be worth 30% of the overall mark it has to be worth 30/65 of Q2. Look at it in terms of points. Q1 is 35 points and Q2 is 65 points. If the exam is worth 30 points in Q2 it will make it 30% overall of Q1 and Q2. This means that the Exam will have a weight of 46% (rounded off) in Q2. That means if you are using category weights you will have 54% left to distribute in Q2.
