In my magazine I have tried to stick to a conventional magazine style as they have been successful and are big sellers. This being said however I did want to put a twist

in the way I designed my magazine to have a unique selling point. I chose a white background as with other magazines white showed expensiveness and a more classy theme. I chose the theme black and pink as it still looks professional and upmarket.

I chose pink to stand out and black as it is a statement colour. For my masthead I decided to incorporate my colour theme to it and overlap text so it looks like text at

the cinema and on Broadway. I also chose pink as it is a feminine colour and my magazine is aimed at teenage girls. For my front cover I used a large mid shot as many other magazines I have seen have large mid shot images. On my cover my

cover lines are both black and pink to match my colour scheme but are also short and simple like many best selling magazines. I have not included a puff or a plug as I think it lowers the tone of a magazine. All of my cover lines are located on the left side of the page as typically that is where its placed on many magazines. On the cover I have included the date, price and barcode like most magazines. For my

masthead I have layered the same text over each other but in two different colours.

For my contents page I have included columns on the left and right with a margin between for images. I have used the same colour scheme in my contents page as I have on my front cover. I chose a national dotted font as I wanted it to look like

a olden day cinema like my masthead. So I chose to so this for the title of my contents page but also my sub headings. I chose to write each page and its

contents in either black or pink. I also wrote a editors note as most top rated magazines have them. I chose these two photos and used Photoshop on them so there was no background to make it look more professional and look like it flows.

I also chose these specific images as they look natural and not awkward. I included a plug to advertise her new album and have a included a photo of this. I have included an editors note because most upmarket magazines do. I have used

my editors note to also advertise a upcoming festival.

I chose a white background for my double paged spread as that is the background I had used throughout. I used pink boxes with the national

dotted font for sub headings. I chose to do this as I did this in my contents page and wanted to link the two. I also did the heading and a pink box with page numbers over both the pages to show they are together and continue

from one another. I chose one black and white image and made it bigger then the other ones to make it stand out this was my lead image. I Chose two smaller images and put them in white boxes to make them look like

olden day photographs. I also used pink for my questions as it is part of my colour scheme and so you can clearly distinguish between the question and

answers like many other magazines I have seen.
