QPRC Arts Trail 1

Self Guided TourThis year we are inviting visitors to ‘Choose their own adventure’ and blaze their own trail by planning the route that includes the studios that particularly interest them. We encourage you to take the whole weekend to meet the artists, explore the studios and workshops, watch demonstrations, and perhaps add a piece to their own private collection.

Visit www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/events to discover maps to guide you to particular artists and studios that take your interest and plot your own unique trail itinerary.

Make sure you bring along a great navigator, a charged smart phone or GPS to help make your way effortlessly around our large region.

Double booked or missed seeing all the artists? With so many studios open this year you just may not get around to them all! Don’t despair. If you missed seeing a particular artist or gallery be sure to contact them directly (most are very friendly), to arrange a visit. Or give Council a call on 6285 6170 and we can connect you.

Kerry Mitchel l ’s Lampwork Beads NEW

Kerry lives on a beautiful farm on the Shoalhaven River, just outside Braidwood, where she uses her environment for inspiration. It has been described as 'a hidden gem'. She took her first lamp-working lesson in 2005 and has been mesmorized by glass ever since. She explains, 'It's the colours and movement of the glass. The capacity of glass to melt and be shaped into something both beautiful and wearable. It is versatile enough to be restrung if an item of jewellery goes out of fashion, a good antidote for today's throw away society.' Kerry will have loose beads, sets of beads and jewellery for sale at her studio. She will also be at her torch demonstrating bead making.

Open: Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm

a: The event space commences in the Judith Wright Gardens in Braidwood, which is located next to the golf club at the end of Garvey Street. From there it moves across the creek to the community gardens.
