1.0 Purpose: The purpose of incoming inspection is to identify potential non-conforming materials/products, prior to placing the material/product into inventory or production. Inspection results are to be recorded, in order to determine the suppliers quality performance.

2.0 Scope:

This procedure will define what products are to be inspected upon receipt.

3.0 Forms/Records: FRM-QC-01 Non-Conforming Material Tag (NCMT) FRM-QC-04 Sampling Record

4.0 References: QSP-QA-04 Nonconforming Material and Control QSP-PUR-01 Purchasing QSP-MAT-01 Material Transactions

5.0 Responsibilities: 5.1 It is the responsibility of the Receiving Clerk to notify ‘QC’ of all items received,

which require incoming inspection. 5.2 It is the responsibility of the Quality Inspector to record and report inspection

results, resulting in goods being moved into inventory or MRB.

6.0 Procedure: 6.1 Purchasing receives a requirement to procure materials for a ‘job’ and places an

order with an approved supplier. (Ref: QSP-PUR-01) 6.1.1 Raw Materials that are procured as catalog standard part numbers shall be

placed on a ‘stock to dock’ requirement, unless otherwise specified by QA. (Ref: QSP-MAT-01)

6.1.2 All Finished goods shall be inspected upon receipt, and results are to be recorded onto the ‘Sampling Record’ (FRM-QC-04).

6.2 If a raw material has been deemed necessary for incoming inspection, the receiving clerk will be notified with an alert, and therefore must notify the QC Inspector.

6.3 QC determines the sampling plan, per MIL-STD-105E. 6.4 If the products pass the required quality plan, the parts are to be moved into

inventory. 6.5 If the products do not pass the quality plan, the inspectors are to record the results

onto the Sampling Record (FRM-QC-04), and process the lot as nonconforming material. (Ref: QSP-QA-04)
