HST Rebate Sharing Gas Tax Total Revenue Impact

The amounts included in this table for HST rebates are estimates based on each community’s expenditures incurred and HST claims submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency for 2013. The actual amount received by a community as its HST rebate may vary from the figures identified in the table as the actual annual HST rebate for a community fluctuates in accordance with a community’s level of expenditure. The amount of HST claimed and more recent expenditures and HST claims will likely be used by the Canada Revenue Agency for calculating the amount of the HST rebate.

The amounts included in this table for shared provincial gas tax revenues are based on gasoline (exclusive of propane, aviation and other forms of fuel) tax revenues reflected in the 2014 Budget. While relatively stable and generally subject to limited fluctuations, if gas tax revenues fluctuate so will the shared portion of gas tax revenues.
