OverviewIntroductionQuantum View is a portfolio of services designedto provide increased visibility into the movementof goods. Visibility can help you improve the per-formance of virtually every function in your busi-ness — customer service, sales, accounts receivable,inventory management and more.

Quantum View® Manage:Quantum View Manage is a Web-based applicationthat enables multiple users within your organizationto quickly and easily view, download, and shareup-to-date information about the status of all yourUPS shipments from any computer connected tothe Internet. There is no charge to use QuantumView Manage.

Quantum View Manage is available in the followingcountries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil,Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany,Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia,Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Poland,Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Korea,Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand,United Kingdom and the United States.

Important:

All information containedwithin Quantum View Manageis confidential and proprietaryinformation, which is the propertyof UPS. As a result, the QuantumView Manage Company Adminis-trator for which you request accessmust be an employee of thecompany (or its subsidiaries).

Quantum View® Data:Quantum View Data is ideal for businesses that wantto integrate visibility information into internal softwareapplications and databases. Information about your inboundand outbound shipments is updated hourly. Files are availablein popular data formats such as CSV, flat file or XML for easyimporting.

Quantum View Data is available in the following countries:Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands,Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and the United States.

Quantum View NotifySM:Quantum View Notify can be used by anyone usingan automated UPS or UPS-compatible shipping system.This proactive e-mail service allows you to send andreceive critical shipment updates from UPS.

The Quantum View Manage User Guide is a convenientstep-by-step reference that will help you manage yourbusiness more effectively.

System RequirementsTo access Quantum View Manage, you will need acomputer connected to the Internet. Quantum ViewManage is compatible with Netscape® Navigator®

versions 4.7 through 6.2 and Microsoft® InternetExplorer version 4.0 with Service Pack 2 (Active Xenabled) and higher.

EnrollmentYou will need to assign a Company Administratorfor the Quantum View program. They will be thepoint of contact for the UPS Account Executivefor setting up and maintaining your account.

The Company Administrators will have visibilityon all UPS account numbers or locations that wereprovided to your Account Executive at the timeyou enrolled. Quantum View users will have accessto only the account numbers or locations assignedto them by the Company Administrator. To addany additional UPS account numbers or locationsfor visibility within Quantum View Manage, theCompany Administrator should contact the UPSAccount Executive for assistance.

Logging InUpon enrollment, the Company Administrator willreceive two separate e-mails containing a link tothe Quantum View Manage site:

• The first provides your User ID

• The second provides your temporary password

Note:

When you log in for the first time,you will be required to agree tothe UPS Terms and Conditions forQuantum View and for My UPS.

This creates a single ID andpassword for both QuantumView and UPS.com.®

You will be prompted to changeyour temporary password on yourfirst login.

Remember: User IDs and pass-words are case sensitive. Multiplefailed attempts to log in will causeyour ID to be locked out for aperiod of 20 minutes.

Each additional user that the Company Administrator addswill also receive two e-mails automatically from the QuantumView Manage administration system. See the Quantum ViewManage and Data Administrators’ Guide for additionalinformation.

If you forget your password, click Forgot User ID or Passwordon the login page for Quantum View. You will be sent atemporary password to the registered e-mail address.

Once you log in for the first time, click the link at the bottomof the Welcome page to Set Preferences.

Setting PreferencesSetting Preferences allows you to view your informationin a specific format each time you log on. You can chooseany of the standard views or create a custom view as yourdefault. Custom Views are discussed in later sections.

You can also change how many days of viewable data youwant to see within Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billing andImports. You can view up to 45 days. Unless you change yourpreferences, the system will default to seven days.

It is important for you to set a preference for the Time Zone.Selecting a zone from the drop-down menu will determinewhen the e-mail alerts that you have scheduled will be sent.

NavigationQuantum View Manage is located under theTracking tab on UPS.com®. The navigation for eachof the Views (Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billingand Imports) is located in the yellow menu bar onthe left of the screen.

To view your Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billingand Imports shipments, click the appropriate hyper-link in the left navigation bar.

Each of these views provides hyperlinks for CustomViews and Alerts (more information on thisfunctionality in the following pages). Note that theImports View provides hyperlinks for Custom Views,Import Resources and Alerts.

You will also find Set Preference and Search hyper-links in the left navigation bar. For more detailedinformation on these functions, see page 18.

Plus, a comprehensive Help section is availableat your fingertips.

You can navigate to other parts of UPS.com at alltimes with the buttons and tabs located in the topportion of your screen.

We strongly encourage you to add QuantumView Manage to your Internet browser’s Favorites(Internet Explorer) or Bookmarks (NetscapeNavigator) list in order to quickly navigate andfind the Quantum View Manage login screen.

ViewsQuantum View Manage provides four standard viewsto see shipment data:

• Outbound• Inbound• Alternate Billing• Imports

Although there are specific details for each, whichwill be outlined in the following pages, the basiclayout for each view is very similar. However,Outbound, Inbound and Alternate Billing providedetailed transportation information at the Shipmentlevel. Imports provides detailed brokerage informationat the Shipment level.

Each page will provide the following:

• Date Range Displayed — Date range of shipmentsbased upon user preferences

• Days Available for Viewing — Number of daysthat historical shipment data is available

• Last Update — Time and Date of the view thatwas last updated

• Filter — Filter function so you can search forspecific shipments (more detail on the followingpages)

• Summary by Status — Total number of yourshipments in the system by UPS Account for thedisplayed date range.

Hint:

Those items that are hyperlinked(appear in blue and underlined)on your screen indicate your abilityto see further shipment detail.

OutboundOutbound reflects a summary of all shipments thatare manifested to your account for a period of upto 45 calendar days and a summary of all freightshipments that have been picked up within a 45-dayperiod. Historical freight shipment information isretained for up to 120 calendar days.

The Outbound Summary displays the total numberof shipments by UPS Account and then by thedelivery status, such as:

• Manifests/Voids — Shipments that have not enteredthe UPS network

• In Transit — Shipments in the UPS network

• Out for Delivery — Shipments delivering to thefinal destination

• Exceptions — Shipments awaiting clarificationbefore final delivery can be made

• Delivered — Shipments that have reached theirfinal destination

• Total Shipments — Total number of shipmentslisted in the categories above by account numberand by status

For greater visibility into all of your shipments, selectthe button. A list of all shipments in thesystem by tracking number will display and includethe following data elements:

If you click the Tracking Numberwhich is hyperlinked (blue andunderlined), you can view evengreater detail about your shipmentincluding the Shipment Progress.

If your shipment volume exceedsthe limit that can be displayed,narrow your search by filtering orselecting a link from the Summarysection.

InboundInbound reflects the summary of those shipmentsshipped by your vendors or suppliers in which youare the recipient. Shipments are viewed by the sched-uled delivery date consisting of seven future and upto 45 historical dates. This does not include Sundaysas UPS does not deliver shipments on Sunday.Historical information is available for 45 calendardays for packages and 120 calendar days for freightshipments.

The Inbound Summary displays the total number ofshipments by location and then by the delivery date.

For greater visibility into all of your shipments, selectthe button. A list of all shipments in thesystem by tracking number will display and includethe following data elements:

Alternate BillingAlternate Billing reflects a summary of thoseshipments that are sent by others on your behalf andbilled to your UPS Account. The viewable shipmentsare those that have been manifested to UPS withinthe past 45 calendar days. Historical freight shipmentinformation is retained for up to 120 calendar days.

The Alternate Billing Summary displays the totalnumber of shipments by Bill-To UPS Account andthen by the following:

• Third-Party

• Freight Collect

• Consignee Billing (U.S. Only)

• Total Number of Shipments

For greater visibility into all of your shipments,select the button. A list of all shipmentsin the system by tracking number will displayand include the following data elements:

• Tracking Number/Reference 1

• Weight/Status

• Manifest Date/Scheduled Delivery Date

• Product/Service

• Images

• Shipper Name/City/State/Province/Country

• Ship to Name/City/State/Province/Country

• View Images (if Imports Privileges have beenassigned)

• Exception Description (if applicable)

• Exception Resolution (if applicable)

ImportsImports provides access to 365 days of brokerageinformation, including shipment, invoice andcommodity detail. This information is available for amaximum of 45 days at a time. Please note that thisview is different as it displays information at theshipment level instead of the shipment level.

You can view import shipments from additionalsupported countries that you have privileges for byusing the import country drop-down list.

The Import Shipments Summary displays the totalnumber of shipments by UPS Importer AccountNumber and then by the following:

• Number of Shipments• Transportation Charges• Total Duties• Total Taxes• Total Fees

For greater visibility into all of your shipments,the standard Imports Detail includes the followingdata elements:

• UPS Importer Account Number• Entry Date• Lead Tracking Number• Customs Control Number• Images• Export Country• Shipper Name• Customs Entry Type

Note:

Displayed From and To dateranges default to the date rangecurrently displayed in the view.This date range can be adjustedto represent any of the availablehistory dates. Adjust the Fromand To dates to the desired rangeand select Go to update thedisplayed set of data.

Only shipments brokered by UPSCustoms Brokerage will displaybrokerage information.

Shipment DetailThe following provides direction on the informationprovided in the Detail table for the Outbound,Inbound and Alternate Billing Views.

The Detail table for Imports differs slightly.For detailed instructions go to the Imports section,page 21.

The Shipment Detail information can be viewed byclicking on the Tracking hyperlink within any view.

This view provides over 80 different data elements,which can be downloaded or e-mailed for historicalpurposes (more information on the following pages).

On Shipment Detail, you can View Shipment Progress.This allows you to see how your shipment has traveledthrough the UPS system.

To View:

• Click on the hyperlink View Shipment Progress

• Shipment movements will be added at the bottomof your screen

From the Shipment Progress view, you can receiveProof of Delivery (POD) information.

To View:

• Follow the instructions for View Shipment Progress(right)

• Click on the hyperlink Proof of Delivery

Note:

Proof of Delivery will only beavailable once a shipment hasbeen delivered.

• A window will open if there is any available information

• To print this information, select File fromthe top menu

FiltersFilters are available in all the views (Outbound,Inbound, Alternate Billing and Imports). We dis-cussed the filter criteria options available for eachview in the “Views” section, pages 6-10.

Filter Shipments By1. Select the filter from the drop-down menu beneath

Filter Shipments By and select .

As you refine your display results, your navigationis tracked through a Filter Path. Within any view,the Filter Path is available. The Filter Path showsactive links of how your displayed results havebeen filtered and allows you to navigate backward.

To Apply a Filter1. Select a filter type in the Filter Shipments By

drop-down menu on the main view.

2. Select .

3. Select the filter values you want to include in yourview. By default, all options are viewable, withSelect All and Clear All buttons at the top of thelist. When selecting a filter, you have the choiceto deselect an option to refine your view. You willonly see filter values that are applicable to yourcurrent data.

4. Select .

Note:

All filter values are dynamicallygenerated based on currentinformation. You will only seeinformation that actually pertainsto your current shipments in theUPS system.

Once a filter is selected, the FilterPath to the right of thebutton will update showing allfilters applied. To add additionalfilters, repeat the process.

DownloadYou can download and save information from allthe views (Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billingand Imports).

Download and Save Information1. Select the Download link under the Detail box.

2. Select Save from the File Download box.

3. Select a location where you will save the CSV fileon your computer.

4. Save the file with the default name or with yourchosen file name.

The file name is defaulted to the view nameand the current date (MMDDYY).

Data elements in the CSV file are organizedconsistent with your view.

Hint:

You may want to set up a folderon your hard drive to save futuredownloads.

E-mailYou can e-mail information from all the views(Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billing and Imports)at any time. The E-Mail link is next to the Downloadlink in the Detail box.

E-mail Shipment Information1. Select the E-mail link in the Detail box.

2. Select as many as 20 shipments to include in youre-mail from the E-mail Shipment Detail screen.

3. Select .

The next screen allows you to:

• Enter up to three e-mail recipients

• Select the language preference for each address

• Type a message of up to 150 characters

• Indicate whether you want to be notifiedif there is a failure in e-mail delivery

The e-mail will come from a UPS e-mail accountand will contain those data elements found onthe page that you chose to e-mail.

Alternately, you may e-mail details about a specificshipment. From the Shipment Detail screen, selectthe e-mail link at the top of the page.

Hint:

Before you send an e-mail,perform all desired filtering.That way, the e-mail shipmentlist will be greatly reduced.

Important:

Proof of Delivery, includingsignature, cannot be e-mailed.

Custom ViewsThe following provides direction on creatingcustomized views of the detail table for Outbound,Inbound and Alternate Billing Views.

Customized views for Imports differ slightly.For detailed instructions go to the Imports section,page 21.

Create a Custom ViewCustom Views allows you to create customizedviews/reports containing the specific shipmentelements you select, that can be saved and accessedat any time.

1. Select the view you want to customize —Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billing —by clicking the left navigation bar.

2. Select Access Custom Views.

3. Select Create New Custom View.

4. Select the criteria for the type of shipments youwant to view.

• Use the drop-down menu to change informationto single choices.

• If multiple choices are necessary within acriteria, click on the hyperlink with the bluedown arrow .

7. Choose the Shipment Elements you want tosee in your view by pushing them to the rightof the screen with the button. Removeany shipment elements you do not want to seein your customized view by pushing them tothe left of the screen with the button.

8. View your custom view in the Preview sectionat the bottom of the screen.

10. The results of your Custom View with theSummary and Detail tables are displayed.To view the criteria used to create yourCustom View, click on View Criteria.To edit, click on Edit Criteria.

The order of the elements in theincluded box will be the order inwhich your columns appear. Youcan change the order by usingthe and .You can see how your view willlook at the preview section belowthe elements list.

The tracking number is the onlydata element that allows you toview shipment details, thereforewe suggest that you ALWAYSkeep it in your view.

Edit or Delete a Custom ViewSelect appropriate view and then Access CustomViews on the left navigation bar.

Select Edit or Delete next to the Custom View name.

A help section is available in a separate pop-upwindow by selecting the Help link available at thetop right corner of the Customized Views box on theCustom Views screen. The Help section outlines:

SearchYou can Search for a particular shipment or groupof shipments by data elements if you do not knowthe tracking number. This function can be used withall the views (Outbound, Inbound, Alternate Billingand Imports).

Search for a Particular Shipment or Number of Shipments1. Select Search.

2. Indicate the view you would like to searchby using the drop-down menu.

3. Indicate Search By using the drop-down menu.Note: The criteria is slightly different for each view.

4. Choose the value qualifier — Starts With,Contains or Equals.

5. Enter the value to be searched. Values correspondto the type of criteria you selected in Search Bysection in Step 3.

Setting AlertsYou can be proactively notified via e-mail that yourshipments or shipments have Exceptions or DeliveryConfirmations. Alerts are set by UPS Account,Location, Service and Exception Type (whereapplicable).

Each of the views (Outbound, Inbound, AlternateBilling and Imports) has specific types of alerts thatcan be set.

Below are explanations of each type and a chartsummarizing which are available for each view.

Exception Alert:We’ll notify you each time an exception occurs thatchanges the scheduled delivery date of a shipment.Exception Types include Damages, DeliveryAttempted, Holds, Incorrect/Incomplete Data,Prohibited/Restricted, Return Shipment, ServiceDisruptions and Weather Delay/Emergency.

Import Custom ViewsYou can create and save a customized view of importshipment information that is tailored to meet yourspecific needs. Saved Import Customs Views canthen be set as the default display page under the SetPreferences section so you can access this informa-tion quickly.

Create a New Imports Custom View1. Select View Imports then Access Custom Views.

2. Select Create New Custom View.

3. Select the criteria for the type of shipmentsyou want to view.

• Use the drop-down menu to change informationto single choices.

• Many of the data elements allow you to makea single choice or you can select the Show Allhyperlink.

4. To save your view for future use, enter a nameunder Save View.

5. To view shipments you selected with standarddata elements (as displayed on the Detail table),choose .

When choosing multiple UPS Importer AccountNumbers, hold the Control Key while selecting.

When defining date ranges, the General Date Rangeis recommended for saved Custom Views since ExactDate Ranges may become outdated.

When selecting an Import Port, only the 10 mostcommonly used UPS import ports are displayedfor individual import port selection.

6. On the Define Elements for Detail Display screen,you may customize the Detail display by addingor removing data elements.— Three types of import data elements are

available: shipment information, invoiceinformation and commodity information.

— All three types of information can be mixedtogether. However, merging shipment informa-tion, invoice information and/or commodityinformation can result in a one-to-many rela-tionship, which can result in repeating data.

7. Choose the data elements you want to see in yourview by pushing them from the Available sectionto the Included box with the button.Remove any data elements you do not want tosee in the Included box by moving the elementsback to the Available section with thebutton.

8. Change the order of the elements in the Includedbox by using and . Theorder of the elements in the Included box willbe the order in which your columns appear.

GlossaryUPS Account — An account, or a nicknameindicative of a freight account, assigned by UPSto a shipper for billing purposes.

Alerts — Notifications sent by e-mail informingyou of confirmed deliveries and exceptions.

Alternate Billing View — Allows user to viewup to 45 calendar days’ worth of shipment statusinformation for all shipments billed via FreightCollect, Consignee Billing or Third Party. Summarydata and/or shipment level detail is available forup to 99 UPS account numbers.

Bill-To Account Number — The account numbera shipment is billed to.

Consignee Billing — An alternative billing optionin which UPS bills shipping charges to the consignee.UPS accepts shipments for Consignee Billing as longas the consignee has a valid UPS account numberand has agreed to accept the charges. This is acontractual service for high-volume receivers.

Date Delivered — The date of confirmed delivery.

Delivered — The number of shipments confirmedfor delivery.

Delivery Confirmation Alerts — A scheduled dailye-mail notification containing an aggregated view ofall deliveries in the last 24 hours. Each e-mail will

contain up to 25 delivered shipments. You will be requiredto choose a scheduled time to receive daily notifications.

Exception Alert — An e-mail notification sent each timean exception occurs that changes the scheduled deliverydate for any given shipment.

Exception Description — A description explaining thereason for a rescheduled delivery.

Exception Resolution — A description of the resolveddelivery actions as a result of the rescheduled delivery.

Exceptions — The number of shipments delayed, resultingin a change of the original scheduled delivery date.

Filter — Allows you to refine your display results.

Filter Path — Shows active links for how your displayedresults have been filtered and allows you to navigatebackward.

Freight Collect — UPS bills shipping charges to thereceiver.

Importer — The person, firm or representative to whom aseller or shipper sent merchandise and who, upon presen-tation of the necessary documents, is recognized as the ownerof the merchandise for the purpose of Custom’s duties.

Importer of Record — Individual, corporation or partner-ship designated as the legally responsible party for customsentries. The Importer of Record pays all duties andassumes all legal liabilities.

Location ID — A unique identifier referring to aspecific shipping/receiving location. (Note: Physicallocations may be assigned more than one Location ID.)

Manifest/Void — Manifest: The number of shipmentsprocessed for UPS delivery. Void: The number ofshipments that were created and billed to yourUPS Account, but never shipped due to a voidedtransaction.

Manifest Date — The date a shipment is processed withinthe UPS system.

Out for Delivery — The number of shipments in route fordelivery.

Outbound View — Allows user to view up to 45 calendardays’ worth of shipment status information for anyshipment sent from you to another party. Summary dataand/or shipment level detail are available for up to 99 UPSaccount numbers.

Shipment Status — Delivered, Exception, In Transit,Manifest, Void.

Product Catalog — A listing of commodities along withtheir associated commodity descriptions, HarmonizedTariff Codes, and Countries of Origin that could beimported for a particular importer. The product catalog isused as a reference when assigning classification to animporter’s commodities.

Scheduled Delivery Date — The date of scheduled delivery.

Ship Date — The day that the shipment is tendered to UPSand begins the journey to its destination.

Ship To — The consignee or location where the shipmentis being sent.

Ship To Name — The name of the recipient to whom yourshipment is being sent.

Ship To Address — The address where your shipment isbeing sent.

Shipment — A shipment represents shipments orarticles shipped together.

Shipment Charge Type — Freight Collect, Pre-paid,Third Party Billing.

Shipper Name and Address — The name and addressof the party processing the shipment for shipment.

Signed By — Name of the recipient who receivedand signed for delivery.

Sold To — “Sold To” information is frequentlyidentified as the “Bill To” or purchaser listed on theinvoice.

Status — The status of a shipment’s movement withinthe UPS system (i.e., In Transit, Manifest, Delivered).

Third-Party — The number of shipments outsourcedto another company hired to manage your supplychain.

Tracking Number — A number automaticallyassigned to your shipment by UPS to identify andtrace its movement through the UPS system to itsdestination.

UPS Account — An account, or a nickname indicative ofa freight account, assigned by UPS to a shipper for billingpurposes.

UPS Service — Inclusive of all domestic and international UPSservices, UPS Freight services and UPS SCS services.

Weight — The weight of the shipment in pounds or kilograms.
