QuasarShining so brightly that they eclipse the ancient galaxies that contain them, quasars are distant objects powered by black holes a billion times as massive as our sun. These powerful dynamos have fascinated astronomers since their discovery half a century ago.In the 1930s, Karl Jansky, a physicist with Bell Telphone Laboratories, discovered that the static interference on transatlantic phone lines was coming from the Milky Way. By the 1950s, astronomers were using radio telescopes to probe the heavens, and pairing their signal with visible examinations of the heavens. However, some of the smallest point source objects didnt match. Astronomers called them quasi-stellar radio sources, or quasars, because the signals came from one place, like a star. Naming them didnt help determine what these objects were. It took years of study to realize that these distant speaks, which seemed to indicate stars, are created by particles accelerated at velocities approaching the speed of light. Quasarsorquasi-stellar radio sourcesare the most energetic and distant members of a class of objects calledactive galactic nuclei(AGN). Quasars are extremely luminous and were first identified as being highredshiftsources of electromagnetic energy, includingradio wavesandvisible light that appeared to be similar tostars, rather than extended sources similar togalaxies. Their spectra contain very broademission lines, unlike any known from stars, hence the name "quasi-stellar." Their luminosity can be 100 times greater than that of the Milky Way. Most quasars were formed approximately 12 billion years ago, and they are normally caused by collisions of galaxies, with the galaxies' central black holes merging to form either a super massive black holeor abinary black holesystem.Quasars show a very highredshift, which is an effect of themetric expansion of spacebetween the quasar and theEarth. When the observed redshift of quasars is interpreted in terms ofHubble's law, it is inferred that quasars are very distant objects. Quasars inhabit the very center of active, young galaxies, and are among the most luminous, powerful, and energetic objects known in the universe, emitting up to a thousand times the energy output of theMilky Way, which contains 200400 billion stars. This radiation is emitted across the electromagnetic spectrum, almost uniformly, from X-rays to the far-infrared with a peak in the ultraviolet-optical bands, with some quasars also being strong sources of radio emission and of gamma-rays.

STRETCHING HUMAN LIMITATIONS

Human body is the most complex machinery on earth. From the very beginning of Homo sapiens, they have undergone continuous process of evolution not only physically but also mentally and psychologically. Human intelligence has been involving day by day, but still we dont know which was/is the peak time of human intelligence, whether it was in ancient time or present day or is still to come. In stories you may have of heard of people in ancient time visualizing things hundreds of kilometers away from them, without going there physically. Also in stories many times we have heard of ancient musicians changing weather by their songs and also people used different enchantments and mantras for curing them. There are many stories about a person controlling another by his mental power. Are these stories really true or they are only fiction? Did such people really exist in past? If yes, do such people still exist in this modern world? Lets look at some incidents of recent times which give evidences that such things may be reality. Some of you may have heard of Remote Viewing in which an individual visualizes things hundreds of kilometer away without going their physically. Ingo Douglas Swann of Telluride, Colorado is one such person who has done remote viewing. Swann was a claimedpsychicwho called himself a "consciousness researcher" who had sometimes experienced "altered states of consciousness". Swann helped develop the process ofremote viewingat theStanford Research Institutein experiments that caught the attention of theCentral Intelligence Agency. He is commonly credited with proposing the idea ofcontrolled remote viewing, a process in which viewers would view a location given nothing but its geographical coordinates, which was developed and tested by Puthoff and Targ with CIA funding. Ingo Swann was able to successfully view a ring around Jupiter. According to Swann, his ability to see Jupiter took about three and a half minutes. In the session he made several reports on the physical features of Jupiter, such as its surface, atmosphere and weather. Swann's statement that Jupiter hadplanetary rings, likeSaturn, was controversial at the time. In 1972 NASA launched its spacecraft Pioneer 10. It was first of its kind to fly directly through asteroid belt and make observation of biggest planet of solar planet, i.e., The Jupiter and confirmed the observations of Swann that Jupiter hadplanetary rings. Before identifying the ring, scientists along with CIA and NSA observed Ingo identify physical objects in hidden envelopes placed a few hundred kilometers away. In his book Penetration, Ingo says, its one thing to read about UFOs and stuff in the papers or in books. It is another to hearrumorsabout themilitary or government having an interest in such matters, rumorswhich say theyhave captured extra-terrestrials and downed alien space craft. But its quite another matter to find oneself in a situation which confirms everything. I found towers, machinery, lights, buildings, humanoids busy at work on something Icouldntfigure out (on the back side of the moon). Now lets see the case of a Japanese author, research and entrepreneur Masaru Emoto, who claimed that human consciousness has an effect on themolecular structure of water. He believed that water could react to positive thoughts and words, and that polluted water could be cleaned through prayer and positive visualisation. According to above theory water was a blueprint for our reality and that emotional energies and vibrations could change the physical structure of water. Emotos water crystal experiments consisted of exposing water in glasses to different words, pictures and music and then freezing and examining the aesthetic properties of the resulting crystals with microscopic photography. Emoto made the claim that water exposed to positive speech and thoughts would result in visually pleasing crystals being formed when that water was frozen, and that negative intention would yield "ugly" frozen crystal formations. Emoto claimed that different water sources would produce different crystalline structures when frozen. For example, he claimed that a water sample from a mountain stream when frozen would show structures of beautifully-shaped geometric design, but those structures would be distorted and randomly formed if the sample were taken from a polluted water source. Emoto believed that these changes could be eliminated by exposing water toultraviolet lightor certainelectromagnetic waves. All of us know food and water are among the basic needs for survival of a normal human being. How long can you imagine a normal human being can survive without food and water? We can imagine someone to survive in such conditions for three days, four days, or maximum one week. But Prahalad Jani an Indian sadhu claims to have survived without water for 75 years, which is beyond our imagination. He was tested twice by a group of doctors led by Dr. Sudhir Shah. In the test he was kept in a room at a medical centre for fifteen days and was provided nothing to eat or drink. And the results were surprising as no significant changes in body metabolism were observed. Doctors say that he is probably surviving on the nectar produced in his pallet and he feeds on it. Also an awkward observation was made on him that at the age of 83 his brain structure was similar to an individual of 25 years of age. But the results of the tests on Jani have never been published in any scientific journal and some more tests and observations are going on him.How do you think these people are able to do such things? Were they bitten by a bug, exposed to radiations or were they injected with something which altered their DNA? From where does the so called Supernatural Power come to these people? Can a human being possess such abilities and extend the boundaries of his limitation? The possible answer to all such questions, according to ancient theories is supposed to be meditation. What is meditation? Meditationis a practice where an individual trains themindor induces amode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content,or as an end in itself. And experimentally also it has been proven that meditation not only provides physical relaxation and peacefulness but also provides cognitive and psychological benefits. In an 8 week program at Massachusetts General Hospital a Harvard-affiliated team made observations on a group of individuals who performed meditation daily for 8 weeks for an average time of 27 minutes per day.It was observed that this led to a major increase in grey matter density in hippocampus, the part of brain associated with self-awareness, compassion and introspection. Also, reduction in stress was correlated with decrease in grey matter density in amygdale, part of brain known to play important role in anxiety and stress. We saw that according to the recent experiments meditation provides us different physical and mental benefits. So, can we say that meditation is behind the supernatural powers possessed by such limited people? Can someone really gain such supernatural abilities by just closing his eyes for some minutes/hours/days or is there something which is inbuilt in the body metabolism of people who possess such special abilities? The case of Wim Hof or The Iceman may provide us the direction in which we should be moving to seek the answers of our curiosity. Wim Hof, the man who is able to control his own immune system performing simple pranayama and meditation and survive in extreme cold condition.Jatin Kumar Rout1st Year, Electrical Engineering

LI-FI A technology ready to create a revolution.

Introduction and OverviewAll of us have increasingly become dependent on the internet some way or the other. It is impossible to think of a day in our lives, when we are not connected to the net. We are using the internet for a variety of purposes, chief among them being sharing of data. In scenarios where we want to transmit data quickly and efficiently, low internet speeds can be quite annoying.

In 2011, Professor Harold Haas from the University of Edinburgh in the UK, suggested an idea called Data through illumination. He used fiber optics to send data through LED light bulbs. With Li-Fi, we can connect to the internet simply by being within range of an LED beam, or we could conceivably transmit data using our car headlights. The ramifications of this are huge, especially with the internet of things in full swing and the much mooted spectrum crunch expected to bite increasingly hard in the coming years. LI-FI stands for Light Fidelity. The technology uses an LED light bulb that varies in intensity faster than the human eye can follow to send data through illumination. The light that zips data across the Internets backbone used to stop a long way from the datas final destination but now it goes all the way to our homes. The LI-FI technology takes the last step and takes the light all the way to the computer or TV, projecting it through the air over the last few meters and only converting it to an electronic signal at the end.

LI-FI is a new technology which uses visible light for communication instead of radio waves. It refers to 5G Visible Light Communication systems using Light Emitting Diodes as a medium to high-speed communication in a similar manner as WI-FI. It can help to conserve a large amount of electricity by transmitting data through light bulbs and other such lighting equipment. It can be used in aircrafts without causing any kind of interference. LI-FI uses light as a carrier as opposed to traditional use of radio waves as in WI-FI and this means that it cannot penetrate walls, which the radio waves are able to. It is typically implemented using white LED the output at very high speeds. This is the principle of the LI-FI. The working of the LI-FI is itself very simpleif the LED is ON, the signal transmitted is a digital 1 whereas if it is OFF, the signal transmitted is a digital 0. By varying the rate at which the LEDs flicker, we can encode various data and transmit it.

Working principle of Li-FiThis technology is based on the Visible Light Communication where we use a source of illumination which can not only produce illumination but also send information using the same light. So we can say that VLC is illumination along with communication.

Literally, any form of information that can be sent using a light signal that is visible to humans could be considered to be VLC, but by our definition we should be able to see the light, but cannot see the data. So although there seems to be no universally agreed definition of VLC, we can at least agree what we mean by VLC.

The sending of the data in the above mentioned manner has been made possible by the widespread use of the LED bulbs. These bulbs can be switched ON and OFF very rapidly thus permitting us to send the required data via light. The rapid adoption of LED light bulbs has created a massive opportunity for VLC. The problem of congestion of the radio spectrum utilized by Wi-Fi and cellular radio systems is also helping to create the market for VLC.

Advantages of li-fi over Wi-Fi Li- Fi uses light rather than radio frequency signals so are intolerant to disturbances. VLC could be used safely in aircraft without affecting airlines signals. Integrated into medical devices and in hospitals as this technology doesnt deal with radio waves, so it can easily be used in all such places where Bluetooth, infrared, Wi-Fi and internet are broadly in use. Under water in sea Wi-Fi does not work at all but light can be used and hence undersea explorations are good to go now with much ease. There are billions of bulbs worldwide which just need to be replaced with LEDs to transmit data. Security is a side benefit of using light for data transfer as it does not penetrate through walls. On highways for traffic control applications like where Cars can have LED based headlights, LED based backlights, and they can communicate with each other and prevent accidents. Using this Technology worldwide every street lamp would be a free data access point. The issues of the shortage of radio frequency bandwidth may be sorted out by Li-Fi.

Applications of Li-FiThe LI-FI system finds a variety of uses in many fields from access to internet by the general public using street lamps to auto-pilot cars which communicate through their headlights. Moreover, in areas such as medicine and aircrafts where WI-FI cannot be used, LI-FI is an alternative which can provide faster data access rates. Some of the applications are discussed below: (a) Education System: LI-FI can replace WI-FI in educational institutions and provide faster internet speeds. All the people can make use of the same speed as has been designated. (b) Medical Applications: WI-FI is not allowed operation theaters because they can interfere with medical equipment. Moreover, their radiations pose risks for patients. LI-FI uses light and hence can be used in place of WI-FI. (c) Internet access in aircrafts: The use of WI-FI is prohibited inside airplanes because they can interfere with the navigational systems of the plane. The users get access to very low speed internet at high rates. Thus, LI-FI is a safe alternative to WI-FI in aircrafts since it uses light and can provide faster internet access. (d) Underwater applications: Underwater ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) operate from large cables that supply their power and allow them to receive signals from their pilots above. But the tether used in ROVs is not long enough to allow them to explore larger areas. LI-FI can even work underwater where Wi-Fi fails completely, thereby throwing open endless opportunities for military operations.(e) Radio broadcast: A large amount of power is required by radio masts in order to broadcast and this makes them quite inefficient. LEDs on the other hand require very low power to operate and this means that LI-FI also uses very little power.Bibek Rana,Arpitaa Mohanty,Biswabhusan Sahoo1st Year, Computer Science and Engineering

WHY SHOULDN'T I?

The crusade of the so-called softer and delicate gender of the society has surpassed all the odds & lacunas of gender disparity in the present society. The female population has evaded their position better than anyone else in proving themselves as the same eloquent & efficient as the males in every sector of the society be it economy, academics, sports, military, aviation, management, or technical aspects. Recently the aviation sector of India has remarked the recruitment of female pilots to ensure the profusion of the female populationof country to the technical arena. So has flourishedthe technical education in case of girls, as which had been a forte of boys during a course of time has become the paradox of girls these days. Girls have been taking admission in technical courses such as engineering & diploma since ages and have proved their self-efficacy by graduating from different streams of engineering n technical courses, bagging technical jobs & attaining par excellence. Alike have I, been pursuing my technical degree in mechanical engineering branch for graduation & job in the same field, & am a girl. Yes, I have chosen mechanical branch because of my fascination for the branch subjects of the stream and core sector jobs and my gender has nothingto do with my choice. I like thermal subjects & love studying about the machines & processes in the power plants. Even I have always dreamt of working in power plant sectors & appear for civil services in engineering subjects, but whenever I come across my peers and relatives asking me, 'why did I choose the mechanical branch despite being a girl, I get filled with awe to reply them with answer to let them visualize the enthusiasm & eagerness of mine to study and clinch a job in core mechanical field with my mechanical degree. I wonder how people could still ask me this question every time when girls have set benchmarks in mechanical branch toolhow can people still ask this questionwhen girls have stopped being back bencher spectacles to the aspects of technical subjects! I am always amazed by their amusement of seeing a girl in my branch, when they have opened the seats of college to both boys and girls equally. I ask, if girls can get admission into the core branch, study the same subjects as them, learn same techniques & formulas as the boys and work at workshops equal hours as them then why can't they bag a job in the field sectors and power plants? Boys are praised on acquiring a seat in mechanical branch, but the same core branch seems unpromising choice of a girl. Even during placements its seen that the authority people ignore the lady candidates despite of their qualifying marks, on the pretext of their gender which makes them unsuitable for technical jobs at power plants & core sectors. This shouldn't be done, as its unfair on dejecting deserving candidates on the groundsof gender inequality from doing their dream jobs.Girls have endured havoc and have smelted themselves tough enough to prove their equity in technical jobs that too with higher tranches, den why the same question repeatedly to us? It would be wrong judging our choice on the grounds of our gender because our country needs hands to serve it toprosper irrespective of the gender of the serving hands. Hence, I will like to instigate the girls studying in mechanical branch, to let the society getaware of ourpassion and urge to become a mechanical engineer that too being a girl so that people know the future scope and aspirations of our branch. Let it be our tom-boyish choice by which the world renounce us but it shouldn't affect our goals, dreams and choices. So, next time anyone asks me around, "Why did u choose mechanical engineering, being a girl?", I would reply, "why shouldn't I?" because I have got many reasons for their "why" while I know they wont be having a single for my "why not".Bhagyashree Moharana3rd year, Mechanical Engineering

THE MORAL OF LIFE FOR A PROFESSIONAL(A SIMPLE INSTANCE)Every one of us has a role model and a fixed objective. As we are on the pursuit of learning technical education, its very important for us to read about the success as well as failure stories of technical giants. Here, I want to bring to you a short factual story that happened with the NOKIA Corporation when taken over by MICROSOFT.During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by MICROSOFT, NOKIA CEO ended his speech saying we didnt do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost. After saying that, all his management team, himself included, broke down sadly.NOKIA has been a respectable company. They didnt do anything wrong in their business, however, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were powerful. They missed out on learning, they missed out on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost the chance of survival. The message is that if u dont change you shall be removed from the competition. Its not wrong if you dont want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated. The advantages you have yesterday will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You dont have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.To change and to improvise gives you a second chance. To be forced by others to change is like being discarded. Those who refuse to learn and improve will definitely become redundant and not relevant to the industry one day. They will learn the lesson in a hard and expensive way.Sidhant Acharya1st Year, Mechanical Engineering

ANALYTICAL THINKING ON DEPRESSIONA group of researchers studying the roots of depression has developed a test to measure analytical thinking and rumination that are hallmarks of the condition, leading them closer to the idea that depression may actually be an adaptation meant to help people cope with complex problems such as chronic illnesses or marriage breakups. The researchers at McMaster University and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health were able to show a meaningful connection between answers to their 20-question test and analytical rumination -- a type of distraction-resistant thinking that is characteristic of clinical and sub-clinical depression alike.

"Depression has long been seen as nothing but a problem," says Paul Andrews, an assistant professor of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behavior at McMaster. "We are asking whether it may actually be a natural adaptation that the brain uses to tackle certain problems. We are seeing more evidence that depression can be a necessary and beneficial adaptation to dealing with major, complex issues that defy easy understanding."The researches emphasize that clinical depression remains a serious mental health concern, and that understanding the underlying mechanisms at play can lead to more effective treatment. There is currently no consensus on the underlying pathology of depressive disorders, and the symptoms used for diagnosis occur on a spectrum that ranges from mild to severe. The researchers administered their test to nearly 600 subjects. Their paper, "Measuring the bright side of being blue," appears in the peer-reviewed, open access journalPLOS ONE.The test revealed which subjects were experiencing analytical rumination at varying levels of intensity, and found a relationship between those results and subjects who were experiencing depressive symptoms. The research suggests that depression may be a natural condition in which the mind concentrates involuntarily on a complex issue to the point where it allocates resources to analyzing the problem at hand, diminishing concentration on other aspects of living, perhaps giving rise to disrupted eating, sleeping and social interaction that are associated with depression.Being able to measure analytical rumination is a step toward developing new and possibly more productive ways of reducing the harmful effects of depression, the researchers say."We have a set of items that clinicians and researchers can use to understand how people with depression are thinking," says Skye Baric, a post-doctoral research fellow at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. "Based on how people answer our questions, we can tailor appropriate levels of care and supports. This set of questions can also inform completely different discussions between the clinician and the patient. Instead of discussing the disease as a 'bad thing', clinicians may be able to help patients have insight about the potential adaptive purposes of their thinking and how this may be used as a strength to move forward in their lives.""When working with many people who experience chronic health conditions, depression is often the limiting factor to recovery and goal attainment," says Zachary Duisk, also a post-doctoral fellow at CAMH. "The test can potentially quickly tell us when people are struggling to identify their problems, trying to set goals, or trying to move forward in their lives. We hypothesize that very different levels of support and care are required throughout these different stages of thinking."by Skye P. Barbic, Zachary Durisko, Paul W. ILLUMINATI

People may have heard of this organization of the Illuminati but they cannot be sure whether or not +it is the stuff of myth, legend or superstition because it always has been a secret and will always be. So even if we know about it, we will never be completely sure of its existence in this world.Illuminati is such an influential secret society which is believed to have been controlling different forms of other societies which includes the US government, the Vatican City, NATO, the UN, Hollywood and different global media outlets. It is believed that they control the govt. and all forms of media and that may be the reason why this secret conspiracy is able to be kept under wraps and people just go about their everyday lives without realizing the Illuminati is running it.The original Illuminati was founded in Bavaria in the 18th century by Adam Weishaupt, an anti-clerical professor who wanted to limit the interference of catholic church in public life because of the constant frustration and discredit he has been getting being the only non-clerical staff in his institution. He based his secret society on the Freemasons, with a hierarchy and mysterious rituals and named it the order of Illuminati to reflect the enlightened ideals of its educated member. The top goal of this organization has been to achieve One World Government and to subjugate all religions and government in this process. So to achieve this, they attributed all wars since French Revolution as having been formulated by them in their pursuit of their goals. According to the Illuminati, the Napoleonic wars were a direct result of Illuminati intervention and were actually intended to weaken the governments of Europe. One of the results of these wars was the Congress of Vienna", which was brought about by the Illuminati to form a One World Government "in the form of League of Nations. However, this plan did not work out because Russia held out of this league. Moreover, it is said that the Illuminati worked out a blueprint for the world wars throughout the 20th century that would lead to a one world government by the end of the 20th century. The first two world wars were quite a success in their motives but the third world war which never took place failed their plan of doing so when they were at the verge of achieving their goal. Through these wars they wanted to drain the international community to such an extent that they will have no choice but to form an One World Government". Illuminati itself means the enlightened ones-a group who knows the rest of society. Even the symbol signifies The All Seeing Eye.According to the Illuminati, it was actually set up as a secular, non-religious sect who wanted to dismiss religious influence over public life and state power. But from all the worldwide activities they have been doing till now, it is very clear that their way of approaching to achieve their goal was terribly miserable, costing both life and property. As the consequences of these wars, innocent people after losing faith on themselves kept on joining this organization to avoid misery. Besides, they did not stop there, to spread their organization they have been constantly using media power. It is found out that the entire entertainment industry has been infiltrated and that the Illuminati members are using the media to brain wash the masses. The Illuminati members are believed to be constantly spreading negative thoughts and doing vulgar activities. You will be surprised to know that, according to different conspiracy theories most of the popular celebrities of the entertainment world are accused of being a member of Illuminati like Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Will Smith, Celina Dion, Rihanna, Katy Perry etc. Miley Cyrus in the beginning made waves with making children shows like Hannah Montana but all of a sudden she started staging controversial nudity acts. Even in India, singers like Yoyo Honey Singh are sometime accused of being a member of it. You may have noticed in most of his songs, he constantly shows a triangle symbol with both of his hands possibly to show the power of Illuminati. The famous Tesla Technology was also convicted in one of such conspiracy of Illuminati where scientist Nikola Tesla was the victim assassinated by the Illuminati. He was the founder of the free energy system technique which can produce enormous amount of energy. The specialty of this system is that the output energy is considered much more than the input energy which was much ahead of the inventions and discoveries of those times. From the way they have been working for years we can guess that it is not controlled by any one single country, it is collectively controlled and used. If they still do exist, then it really is an underground movement. One of the members of it who has left that organization revealed that there are around 439 underground bunkers and bases which are controlled and manipulated by the Illuminati. He also mentioned the names of a few popular personalities who have stayed in those bunkers including Leon Trotsky, Saddam Hussein and even Abraham Lincoln. Even Sir Isaac Newton was also supposed to be a member of Illuminati.Illuminati is not the only secret society that exists. There are many other such secret societies that exists. Some of which are officially declared and some only exist in stories. We dont know their motives and goals. May be we will never be able to know the answer of the question that Who really controls the world?Prachji Pragnya Mahanta1st YearComputer Science and Engineering

MEMORY CHIP TO RECORD MEMORIESEach week a global thinker from the worlds of philosophy, science, psychology or the arts is given a minute to put forward a radical, inspiring or controversial idea-no matter how improvable- that they believe would change the world.Memory chip! Commonly called as memory card. This would give everyone the chance to have a complete collection of all their lifes memories, without any loss of detail or the distortions of time. I use the term chip loosely, as it might be made of silicon or be living cell based, but when connected to our brain it would provide instant additional memory just like a computer memory stick. With human memory chip, experiences could be stories and be played back perfectly, either by the original owner of the memory or cloned and directly shared with others. For example, a soldier returning from battle could actually share his memories and thus enable the full horror of war to be experienced first-hand by the people at home. Memories would also be passed on to future generations. Imagine inheriting the memory of your mother the day you were born a far better way to understand the past than a box of dusty photographs. I close on a cautious note.Whilst human memory chips could have many world changing benefits, there is also the potential for misuse. But I hope that the option for everyone to have a complete collection of their life memories will one day be the norm, and not just the wish of a b-tech student.Shaily Sahoo3rd YearComputer Science and Engineering

A CHILDS ANGEL....Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. One day the child asked GOD they say you are sending me to earth tomorrow, how am i going to live there being so small and helpless? GOD replied, Among the many Angels I choose one for you, she will be waiting for you and will take care of you.But tell me here in heaven I dont do anything else but sing and smile, thats enough for me to be happy, asked the child.Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day and you will feel your angels love and happiness, GOD replied.

And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I dont know the language that men talk? asked the child.Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak, replied GOD.And what am i going to do when I want to talk to you? the child asked.Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray, GOD replied.Ive heard that on earth there is evil that will attack me, said the child.Your angel will defend you ever if it means risking its life, replied ALMIGHTY.But I will always be sad because I wont be able to see you any more, said the child.Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me even though, I will always be next to you, GOD replied. At that moment there was much peace in heaven but voices from earth could already be heard and the child in hurry asked softly, Oh GOD, I am about to leave now, please i request you to tell my angels name.Your angels name is of no importance, you will call your angel MOTHER, helped ALMIGHTY.Sneha

LACKING ASPIRATIONAt one time, favouritism was the order of the day. But in the present day, competition is said to be the decisive factor in how life progresses. This shift has been basically due to the advent of democracy because the culture of democracy is meant to be based on merit rather than on favouritism so that if you prove to be rewarded, otherwise, not.The present day culture of competition has given rise to a new social principle with maximum such as compete or perish 'and 'merit based progress'. In this highly competitive scenario, some people have emphasised the idea that a competition based system has also produced two different class- a privileged class and a deprived class. While the privileged class is bound to achieve success, the deprived class will be doomed to lead a life of penury. One who is said to have "perished" does not really perish in reality; instead he stands up with new motivation to establish himself so thoroughly in his closed sphere that no one will have grounds to belittle or dismiss him. There are many historical examples of how motivational factors account for personal progress. For instance, Bill Gates said while sharing his experiences, I failed in some subjects in an exam, but my friend passed in all of them". Now he is an engineer in the organisation and i am the owner of that organisation. If you have a tree in your garden and you cut off one of its branch you will very soon find that a new branch grows back at the same spot. This is the law of nature, which is applicable to human life.

One can take your first chance but no one has the power to stop you from taking a second or more chances. Therefore, the formula of "compete or perish" is not the be-all and end-all of existence. In my opinion success\aspiration is that thing for which you can vie and you can die laughingSubhranshu Jena1st YearMechanical Engineering

THE JOURNEY THROUGH GCEKThe abrupt transition from the 14 long years of sheltered and subtle atmosphere of a convent school to hurly-burly of college campus was not a cake-walk for me, though I was quite enthusiastic to explore a new world. New place, new surroundings, new subjects and a plethora of new challenges.Yeah, a NEW LIFE in a hostel with friends. Despite initial hurdles, I soon get accustomed and adhered myself to this new way of life. The first year of my college were like the 1st DAY, 1st SHOWS, the most enriching, filled with experiences, because everything in it seemed new. Bhawanipatna had won my heart with its serene and scenic natural beauty and the people who led a simple life. The hostel apparently turned into a home apart from the one I had left behind for studies. Here friends make family, they care for you, they love you, they help you in difficult situations. It was filled with fun, solving fights, games, chit-chats, debates on social and political issues and mimicry that arouse loads of laughter.Though we spent only three hours at college, it was where we get to know our subjects and also our fellow classmates. These three hours were the liveliest and busiest hours of the day. Proudly proclaiming to be an ENGINERING student, I had set up my heart and mind to muster all the concepts and get my fundamentals clear. Though I never believed in mugging things and pouring them out in exams to get ranks.Teachers made the learning process simple. A lot of experiences made during these four long years of engineering are memories for the rest of the life, advices and scolding preventing me from repeating the same mistakes again. My special thanks to all those teachers who have made a profound difference in my life. Being an upcoming college, GCEK gave me many opportunities for learning things, to struggle, to be a face in the crowds. These 4 YEARS gave me important lessons in life that no book could teach. I can never thank enough all those who stood by me during my tough times and those who criticized me as well. They made all the difference- they made me what I am today.Tears roll into my eyes as I count upon the remaining days of my engineering life. Life is a highway which stretches out smooth and straight until its time to bend and this is the time indeed.Roshni Gantagharia4th YearElectrical Engineering

E-GOVERNANCE CYBER SECURITY SYSTEME-Governance is the outgrowth of efforts made by the government to improve relation with their citizen. There is a need of security that is the demanding challenge what we did now a day. Cyber security promoting the governance with information and communication technology. In order to develop an e- government system all the users can thesaurus the system very well. The interlinked e- governance activities are stepwise from government to citizen then to employee and then to business. It is the activity of protecting information system (Network, computer databases, data center& data base management system) with appropriate security measures.Public private partnership is a key component of cyber security in E- governance. In the e- governance system there is a creation of conductive legal environment in support of safe and secure cyber space. Placing of 24*7 mechanism for cyber security emergency responses. The government has allocated $860 million until 2016 to establish a national cyber security program. The workers who involve in this work from internet service providers and their representative group such as the telecommunication industry security advisory committees (TISAC), the bank of England, the financial authority of COM, OFGEM, OFWAT and many more.In 2015, the German Federal Office for information security revealed in a report that an unnamed German steel mill had suffered massive damage following a cyber-attack. The discussion with panelist in the boardroom discussion about the threat of cyber-attack hasnt received the attention which it deserves. To get cyber security right there are number of resources mentioned at the round table under the guidance of GCHQs. Organization can be improved the security of their networks. The cyber system need a government which is backed and the industry should support the scheme to help organization and protect themselves against internet based threats. Therefore, the most viable option for reducing the risk of a cyber-attack relied upon communication and education. There should be a proper education to the employees by their organizations to protect their personal data and devices. To combating the cyber security there are many option like Regularly patching firewalls Updating firmware Setting strong password Changing the password our Wi-Fi router came with on firewallsE-governance has already occupied a significant place in the global economy. Various agencies of United Nations Organization (UNO) and the World Bank provide huge support in E-government initiatives. Essentially, actions for securing information and information system are required to be done at different level in the E-governance. E-governance requires a range of legislative changes including electronic signatures; electronic archiving; data matching; freedom of information; data protection; computer crimes; and intellectual property rights legislation. Regulatory changes are required for a host of activities from procurement to service delivery. It is responsibility of the state to bring in sufficiently strong legislation to discourage and put down the misuse of the internet and other cyber media for any nefarious activities. Beside the action by government other stake holders such as network services providers (ISP), large businesses and small users/home users are also required to play their part to enhance the security of cyberspace within the country.Nidhi Singh1st YearComputer Science and EngineeringWAS ANCIENT INDIA ADVANCED?

India, as we know today is the worlds second largest population, the largest democracy in world, and has largest diversity in population all over the world. But most of us are unaware and are very less curious to know about the history of our own country. Today we discuss that Indias economic conditions are very weak, India is a backward country and we are not developed. But was the condition of India same from the very beginning or it has been degraded with time? Since India got its Independence on 15th August 1947, the economic condition of India has faced continuous ups and downs and also has been degrading with time. But hundreds of years ago India was known as the Golden Bird or Sone ki Chidiya because of the strong economic condition India had and also because of the high amount of wealth the citizens of India possessed. At that time families had gold coins like the heap of wheat. Many foreign researchers like Thomas B. Macaulay, an English researcher, came to India in 19th century & stayed here for about 17 years. After returning to his country, he told people that he had never seen a wealthy country like India. But later Bruisers conquered India and looted its wealth after which the identity of India as Golden Bird disappeared. Another English researcher named William Dippy wrote in one of his books that before Bruisers came to India, it was a very rich & productive. The soil of India was so much fertile that no other country has this type of soil and later it was destroyed by the different advance methods of cultivation, introduced by the Britishers. At that time the clothes produced by Indian weavers were the best quality clothes in whole world. These clothes were popularly known as Khari. The weaver sold those cloths in foreign market in exchange of gold. Also a revolution took place, led by Mahatma Gandhi to promote Khadi when the Britishers tried to remove Khadi by introducing western dresses. In 1813, there was an estimation in England's parliament that INDIA produced 43% of the whole world's production. But today America produces 25% of world production & China produces 23% of the worlds production. Means both America & China producing that much amount of world production which was India producing 200 years back. Also another estimation was made in Englands parliament that in business sector India contribution is 33% of the whole world production at that time means in 1840. Also net export of India was 27% of the whole worlds export. At that time export of America was less than 1%, export of Great Britain was less than 0.5% and net export of Europe and America was 3-4% only. Today we say that America is very advanced in field of science and technology, but about few hundred years ago India was the leader of the world in field of science and technology. An English researcher Mr. Campbell Carge who studied about the science & technology of India said that, "The country where there is huge amount of production, it is possible if there is industry and industry is possible if technology is there and technology is possible if science is there and if the science is there from the root then their technology forms". At that time (during 18th century), the steel which was considered of bad quality by Indians was better than the best quality steel produced in Sweden. Many scientists have done research on India and says that there are near about 20 branches of science are available in India. We all know that European scientist Copernicus gave the first idea about relation between sun and earth and also gave the assumed distance between the sun and earth. But thousand years before that the exact distance between Earth and Sun was already given by the great Indian mathematician Arya Bhatt. Also the idea of the change in climatic conditions due to rotation of earth around the sun was given by some Indian scientists. In medical sciences also, India was highly advanced and also taught other countries about Ayurveda. Plastic surgery which is a complicated topic in medical science was invented and used for the first time by Indian scientists.Today a large number of Indian youngsters are moving abroad for the purpose of education. But hundreds of years ago, people from all over the world came to India to gain knowledge. Takshashila and Nalanda were considered the best place to study in whole world. These universities were based on Vedic education. Before Britishers introduced the school system in India, children used to gurukuls for the purpose of education. In every village there were Gurukul, and for every 200-400 student there was a gurukul in 1822. Illiteracy and lack of education was very low in India. But in 1868 Britishers started schools for general student before that there were school for king family child only. At that time literacy rate of India at that time was 97% but now it is just 50% only. India has always been known for its culture and traditions and Britishers targeted these two things before invading India. They tried to destroy Indian culture by attracting Indian people towards western culture and they succeeded in doing so because of the unawareness of the Indian people about their own country. From the field of economics to science and technology ancient India was always in top all over the world. India has taught counting to the world by introducing zero. If India would not have given decimal to the world, it was impossible to go to the moon. India was the first to teach the language of stars, i.e. astrology to the world. Where civilization came first, where art was born. India has been a global leader since ancient times and the world has followed it. Feel proud to be an Indian.Biswajit Biswal, Amrit Kumar1st YearMechanical Engineering

CHECKING TRIBAL MIGRATION-A TOUGH CHALLENGE

Migration of tribes from Odisha is a complex and dynamic process, which has been taking place over the last centuries. Between 1950 and 1980 tribal peoples migrated to the rural areas to work as agricultural labor. But now they have started migrating to bigger cities in search of employment. The big cities in India work as immigrating places for the tribal migrants moving from their hinter land. The recent shift in migration trends have revealed in increasing movement of single revealed the increasing movement of single young women towards urban centers in search of livelihood.Migration among tribal family is not a matter of choice; but often a compulsion to avoid starvation. Tribal migration is somewhat different from migration among non-tribal; but at national and international levels most of tribal women and girls are illiterate and they work in inhuman condition in cities. The migrated tribal women and girls faces a number of problems immediately after migration to cities, which include difficulty of communication in local language, accommodation, employment, education of children, local contacts, adjustments with city life and environment.A great number of these migrants exploited by middle man, contractors, construction companies and other employers because they are new to the city life style and environment. So it is difficult to make adjustment with the changed situation and environment. Moreover, they are exploited financially and mentally by the non-tribal in cities. So whatever it may be the Push Factor is responsible for such migration. The bulk of migration is push driven. The push factors are debt at higher rate of interest, inability to pay, money lender- dadan agent nexus, low rates of wages, employment and land alienation along with poverty and in debt condition. Middle man are operating in the labor market for recruitment of cheap labor to work outside the state. Work is not available after harvest of paddy from highland which forces them to migrate. So the government and NGO's must try their level best to prevent exploitation of tribal and maintain their welfare as is the need of the hour.Sushri Rojalin Nanda2nd YearComputer Science and Engineering

WE SHOULD NEVER QUIT

Sometimes we feel that we have nothing left to give and no matter how hard we try. We keep hitting road blocks that seem to hold us back. The matter of fact is, if we can overcome the obstacles presented to us and keep pushing through the bad times, we will find success.Difficult does not mean impossible. It simply means that we have to work hard. Most of the important things in the world have been achieved by people who kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. Its impossible to achieve success without first facing failure, so we should not let anything to stop us. Failure is the normal process in life. Its not the end but a stream changing direction before it finally reaches the ocean. True failure is not when we miss the mark but when we 'QUIT'.There are lots of people out there eager to tell us that the goals we put on map the map are impossible to achieve due to their own limiting beliefs. But who are they to decide and set our limits? Often when we feel that we are about to give up, at that auspicious moment we are the closest to making a huge breakthrough! At any point of time, we are just on the verge of success. The road to success is full of challenges, always. You have to be daring. No time to play it shy and invisible. Come out of the shadow and show yourself to the world. You can and will all you want because you decided to do so.Laxmi Narayan Senapati3rd YearMechanical Engineering

WE ARE THE MECHANICAL ENGINEERS"Welding the rest of all branches, Crank up the lives, Shift up the gears because WE are the MEN, WE are the machine, and WE are the MECHANICAL ENGINEERS." Mechanical engineering is the back bone of engineering study. It is one of the major divisions within the profession and its principles are involved in the design ,development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems which technology has produced .Mechanical engineers are considered with the operation of all kinds of machinery and the production of energy resources .They must conceive, research, design, develop, test, manufacture and sell equipment for these purpose .It is a complex discipline and requires a great deal of specialized knowledge. The engineers are required by all kinds of companies which manufacture a great variety of machines, robotics and other equipment. The engineers may be responsible for the design, selection materials, specifications and the improvement of production process and equipment. Mechanical engineering is the oldest branch among all the branches .It finds its application in the archives of various ancient and medieval societies throughout mankind .In ancient Greece the works of Archimedes (287-212BC) deeply influenced mechanics in the western tradition and Heron of Alexandria created the first steam engine called as Aeolipile in china .Zhang Heng (78-139 AD) improved a water clock and invented a seismometer and Majun (200-265 AD) invented a chariot with different gears. During the years from 7th to 15th century, the era called the Islamic Golden because of their remarkable contributions from Muslims inventors in the field of mechanical engineering. Al-Jazeri who was one of them, wrote the famous book of knowledge of "Ingenious Mechanical Devices" in 1206 presented many mechanical designs. He is also considered to be the inventor of such mechanical devices which now from the very basic of mechanics such as the crank shaft. Important breakthrough in the foundation of mechanical engineering occurred in England during the 17th century when Sir Isaac Newton both formulated the three Newton's law of motion and developed calculus the mathematical basis of physicsDuring the early 19th century in England, Germany and Scotland, the development of machine tools led mechanical engineering to develop as a separate field within engineering providing manufacturing machines and the engines to power them and many more things was invented at that time.Today views show that the young minds of mechanical engineers have come up with some brilliant ideas that will convince you that our country is one of the power house of talent. In recent time, many inventions such as from a scooter that charges faster than your mobile phone and the scooter can easily go on for 50,000 km with its battery pack by the IIT-Madras students. We wonder to see the drone that helps the Indian army with rescue operations during natural calamities made by IIT Bombay, how can someone walk on water? It's impossible, well Mirik Gogri and Ayush Jain two IIT-Bombay alumni have made the impossible as a possible and IIT BHU students also made an innovative alcohol sensing helmet that won't let the person to start a bike if you are drunk. Hemometer which was made by IIT-Delhi boy Ambar Shrivastava. He developed a mobile phone sized meter; a device that helps in accurate hemoglobin estimate. Many researches in this branch make it a core branch which inculcates minds the concepts for an advanced future. That's why it is called as an evergreen branch. SOUND VIBRATIONSound vibration-pressure waves in air that creates melody in our life. Initial discoveries regarding sound waves were made in the sixth century B.C by the Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras. He noted the relationship between the length of the vibrating string and the tone its produces what is now known as the first law of string. Even in ancient times people knew the power that vibration holds. Modern research claims that ancient pyramids were made using the method of levitation using sound vibration. Recently modern physics has stretched the application of sound vibrations to an extent to which no one had thought of. Electrical and computer science engineering students Viat Tran and Seth Robertson were looking for an interesting idea for their senior research project. Thats when they stumbled upon an experiment conducted by the Defence Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) and discovered fire extinguisher which vibrates the oxygen away from the flames by maintaining a frequency of 30-60 Hz with no fuel, to keep them going due to which the fire suffocates and dies. One more astounding effect of sound vibration is the moving of objects called levitation. Typically, levitation techniques make use of the electromagnetism. To move and levitating objects, Dimous Poulikakos, a mechanical engineer built sound-making platforms using piezoelectric crystals. the platform emit sound waves which move upward until they reach surface laying above, where they bounce back when the downward moving reflected waves overlap with the upward moving source waves, the two cancel out in the middle, at so-called node points. By adjusting the position of the nodes, one can tow the objects between platforms. In modern science it has been found that vibration and sound can affect matter, interact with our molecules and stimulate healing. It has long been noted that particular sounds and their frequencies have a direct effect on the bodys ability to heal from various disharmonious states or disease, i.e. from imbalance associated with anxiety to nerve disorders and cancer. There is no doubt that human beings are part of a vibratory experience, and it plays a vital role in our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual existence and well-being. Dr. Mitchell L. Gaynor discusses his discovery of Tibetan singing bowls in helping cancer patients. As a scientist, he communicates the importance of vibrational healing through sound and how we can order our molecular structure through sound and heal physical and emotional imbalances. He gives one example of a woman with a tumor in her thymus gland and how singing bowls helped her to relax and reflect upon internal stresses that were the cause of the blockages in her body. By listening to the vibration of the crystal bowl and visualizing the shape of her fears she was able to see where the fear was stuck in her physical body.Besides these there is a great impact of sound and music on the human brain waves and the production of hormones. The sound of single musical instrument affects a certain organ of the body. E.g. stringed instruments (violin, guitar, harp and cello)-have a salutary effect on cardiovascular system. Every melody synchronizes the operation of the internal organs. This happens because any of our bodies-a source of energy and electromagnetic waves given frequency, as well as the sounds of music are also waves, they come into resonance with them and the settings of our body change. When the melody sounds, its acoustic field is imposed on the acoustic field, and it turns out that we experience a certain kind of cell massage. Pritam Patel1st YearComputer Science and Engineering

THE UNKNOWNSToday we read about various scientists and great personalities and about their work in various magazines and journals. But still there are some suppressed and less known personalities around the world about whom very few of us know. They had done some great work and made some mind boggling discoveries and inventions. But as the information given by some them was very much useful for the public and would have changed the economic and social condition of the globe, their work and their identities were suppressed by the politicians and other people who control the world. Lets take a look on some of such personalities and their work, some of which are suppressed and some others are not well known to us.Now-a-days we talk a lot about sustainable development and the decreasing energy resources of the world. But do you know, in past many people invented and discovered many methods which would have provided free energy in large amount to the mankind, but later their works and their identity was suppressed. Among such people, one name that comes on top is of Nikola Tesla. He made a device or basically a receiver which used the magnetic field of earth and the radiant energy produced by Cosmic rays due to their low charge and high velocity, and used it for producing free energy. But as his works would have started a revolution around the globe and would have affected the global economy, he was killed, his device was destroyed and his works were suppressed by a group of politicians. We know many people who are great hackers but there are many hackers who are suppressed as they hacked some of the greatest and strongest security systems around the world. Two such names that come in this list are of Gary McKinnon and Edward Snowden. Gary McKinnon is a Scottish system administrator and hacker who perpetrated the "biggest military computerhackof all time". McKinnon hacked 97 US military and NASA computers over a period of 13 months and exposed some important information like evidence offree energy suppressionand a cover-up ofUFOactivity and other technologies potentially useful to the public.Edward Joseph Snowdenis an Americancomputer professional, formerCentral Intelligence Agency(CIA) employee, and former contractor for the US Government who copiedclassified informationfrom the United StatesNational Security Agency(NSA) in 2013 without prior authorization. The information revealed numerousglobal surveillanceprograms, many run by the NSA andFive Eyeswith the cooperation oftelecommunication companiesand European governments. Snowden's revelations were the start of a series ofglobal surveillance disclosures. Another such suppressed scientist is Philip Schneider. Philip was employed by Morrison-Knudsen, Inc. and was involved in building an addition to the deep underground military base at Dulce, New Mexico. He discovered about some of the cover-ups of U.S government, about the black budgets and the Government's involvement with UFOs. He was murdered because he openly exposed these information to the world in his various lectures.Another controversial but suppressed name that comes to this is of Robert Scott Bob Lazar. He claims to have worked on reverse engineering extra-terrestrial technology at a site S4, in the Emigrant Valley and Old Kelly Mine area near the Area 51 test facility. Universities from which he claimed to hold degrees show no record of him and S4 site was categorized as bogus on investigation. There are many other personalities whose identities were suppressed by the Controllers of the world because they had done some mind boggling inventions and discoveries which were highly useful for mankind and would have brought global revolution. Some were also suppressed because they revealed some dark secrets of the military and the government and leaking of these information would have raised some very important questions and would have pressurized government. No matter how hard we may never reach the ultimate truth.Jatin Kumar Rout1st Year, Electrical EngineeringPHYSICS FOR FUN

Mans curiosity to understand the basic laws of Nature and efforts to demystify the mysteries of the universe started a long time in the past. Question like who made the Nature what are the Laws that govern the Natures dynamics in both macroscopic and microscopic scale troubled ancient thinkers a lot. Few were the people who were curious enough to make such queries and fewer were those who dedicated their entire life seeking for the answers. People like Galileo, Isaac Newton and Joseph Louis Lagrange made strong efforts to frame the mathematical structure that could well explain the classical dynamics of projectiles on earth to the complicated motion of massive planets and stars. Physics was not complicated those times and every question had an intuitive answer that could well convince any layman. But the story has just begun. Back in 19th century, James Clerk Maxwell made a landmark in the history of physics when he entwined two different looking theories like Electricity and Magnetism into a single theory. He proposed the existence of electromagnetic waves where electric and magnetic field work hand in hand to transfer energy from one point to another in space. But such a theory gave birth to a weird conclusion that shook mans intuitive classical understanding, conclusion being Speed of light is constant in all frame. This is extremely weird. It would mean that if you have a beam of light travelling right with speed c and you are also running behind light with speed c/2, you would still measure that speed of light is c. Classically you should measure its speed c/2. It is like if a car (light analogy) is moving at 10m/s and you are running at 5 m/s towards the car and you still measure the cars velocity as 10m/s. Obviously it is not possible with cars and you would measure cars velocity as 5 m/s. But this is false in case of measurement of speed of light. Crazy right. This gave birth to Einsteins Special theory of Relativity. An interesting result of this theory is that time slows down in moving frame i.e. if you are in a moving spaceship your aging process slows down. So question is what is Time?Hence we learned that nothing can outrun a light beam. This new conclusion created another controversy. Newtons theory of gravity is wrong if the above conclusion about the constancy of speed of light is taken as a universal dictum. According to Newtons theory gravitational force must act instantaneously without delay but Einsteins relativity theory says that gravitational force signal travel with a finite speed that is with the speed of light. In layman language if sun were to disappear suddenly then it would take a time of 8 minutes for earth to know that sun has disappeared and till those 8 minutes earth will be in an illusion that sun is still in its original position. Also Newtons gravitation theory failed to explain the precession of the Mercurys orbit around the sun. Edington wrote a letter to Einstein asking him to explain the weird nature of Mercurys motion about sun. Einstein was obsessed with this gravity puzzle. He spent 10 years in formulating a new theory of gravity that will be in tune with the experimental results. He named it General Theory of Relativity. According to this theory Gravity in not a force. What we call Gravity is just warping of space-time. I used the term space and time in one word space-time to emphasize the fact that if space is bent then time also bends. In layman language the theory says that earth is moving round the sun because the space around the sun is warped due to the presence of sun and earth moves in elliptical orbit because the space in which earth exists is warped by the Sun. Hence we find that the macroscopic world is governed by laws of general relativity. So if gravity is not a force but is a consequence of warping of space time then what is Electrostatic force? We have learned that electrostatic force is just like gravitational force but much stronger than gravity. Gravity is only attractive but electrostatic force can be both attractive and repulsive. Kaluza Klein gave a remarkable idea of compactified dimension to explain Electrostatic force. He gave a theory named KaluzaKlien theory that exists in 5 dimensions (4 space-time dimension and 1 compactified dimension) ... Now we are left with two more forces that exists in nature- Strong force and weak force. And we need a theory that would unite them all. From now on the story becomes creepy.Another group of scientists like Bohr, Heisenberg and Schrodinger were engaged in unveiling the mysterious laws that govern the microscopic world i.e. the world of fundamental particles that forms matter. It was found conclusively that somehow particles behave as waves. This fundamental principle gave rise to a new theory named Quantum mechanics. Let me try to explain it in simple language. We know that electrons are particles like bullets. So if I fire a series of bullets using a machines gun through a slit then all the bullets will pass the slit without deviating from their original straight line path. However, in this experiment electron beam do not behave like bullets. The form diffraction pattern as if they are waves. However, in other experiments electron behave on particle. So an electron beam can behave as particle or as a wave depending upon the experiment you perform on them. Also some experiments suggested that microscopic particles can exist at two different places at the same time. Now sparks a new controversy. How can our world have two different theories - When we go to macroscopic world to track the trajectory of planets and stars we use General Relativity and when we go to the microscopic world we have to use Quantum mechanics to explain the behavior in macroscopic world? Intuitively there must be only one theory that should explain our universal laws. Hence a search began to find a single theory that world explain every laws of nature and this theory must unite both General relativity and Quantum mechanics. Hence a search for Theory of Everything began.String theory (more precisely Superstring theory) is said to be the best candidate for Theory of Everything. What is String theory? According to String theory all fundamental particles are made up of string of energy (some particles are just open string vibrations and particle like graviton are closed strings). But most amazing fact about Superstring theory is that this theory is a 10 dimensional theory which means this weird theory exists in 10 dimensions. Now why isString theory a candidate for theory of everything? Because this one theory has the power to unite all the fundamental forces of nature (Electrostatic, strong, weak and gravitational force).

ABHIJIT SEN (Dept. of Physics)CHARMLESS LIFEIt is being frustrating by doing the role of supporting actor in a film having full of action, comedy, suspense and thriller. Talent is being suppressed under the knee of some personnel to whom audience used to designate as Director or Producers. Dont know what may be their motive behind that? Whether they are afraid of changing the tread or scare about the fact that some emerging stars are just waiting for a chance to debut and which may lead towards loss of their stardom. Audience becoming realistic and that need to strict the reality of world that includes new Innovations and practicalism. After having all the qualities of leading, you are still rejecting then the graph of frustration will become like the XY relationship graph of a straight line having equation X=Y, in mathematical words frustration tends to infinite and confidence tends to zero and at the same time downfall of carrier as well as life is started. This is not only about the film industry but in every point of life that is from school, colleges to any corporate or govt. Sector there are some directors or producers like parents to teachers or professor to senior officers, who are doing their job of creating frustration on their subordinates mind very carefully. When you are offering them any new idea then the same irritating old replay dont waste your time in this, youll not be getting any promotion. In parents word dont waste your time in sports or any other act, just focus on your study which can give you good marks, in professors word youll not be getting any award by joining any student activity, just focus on your project or seminar for good grades, which can get you a good job, and in senior officers word no need of any change in our company, just follow the tread and avoid loss. But before suggesting those things the directors should think one thing that getting success in any field first need to initiate any idea. And for getting world class success that the supporting actor need to act in lead role and for this scope is much necessary and then the picture will also superheat. What do you think, those directors have not had any innovative idea......?No ... but just because of those unfavorable conditions, these thoughts are being followed as a tradition and they are also suggesting their substituent.Patitapabana Mahanandia4th YearCivil Engineering

POWER OF MINDHave you ever thought why Swami Vivekananda and Albert Einstein were able to use their 12% of their brain? If they used only 12% and the results were such then what will happen if we use 100% of our brain. Have you listened about the people who can say your past and future exactly?Science says that all the human beings have equal number of neuron cells then why there is a huge difference between the brains of different individuals. Is the science wrong or there is something we are unknown about it?Here, I will take you to the world which is real but difficult to accept. Let me cite some real stories which are beyond our understanding level.Vivekananda used to read books pages by pages but we read word by word. When he was at the age of 34, he had predicted his death and it did happen. On the question of one of his disciple, why he would die at such young and energetic age, he answered after some years his conscious level would increase to such extent that it would be difficult for his body to hold the soul.Einstein always used to sit on a blanket lying one corner of his room while thinking. His way of seeing the world, matters is completely unimaginable. His research on theory of relativity is still unfathomable by many eminent scientists.Sri Anukula Chandra founder of Satsang Organization was also a man of mystery. He was able to see the past and future of an individual accurately. Just by sitting at his ashram he could describe the incident happening in the world and also about any person who were at a far distance from him.No doubt all the human beings have equal brain but it matters how much of it is activated. More the activated neuron cells, more the brain power of an individual. Our brain carries all the information of this world from starting of the big bang to the evolution of man. By activating these cells one can expose the secret of this world. The only way to activate the cells is meditation. While meditating on the spot between two eyebrows which is called as a gyanchakra, hippocampus gland lying just behind it secrets certain chemical which helps neuron cells to charge up.The most vital part of our body is the brain. Now in medical science, failure of heart is not considered a death rather the failure of brain is said as death. Our brain continuously emits the radiations of different frequencies. Each thought has a specific frequency. Like that all matter release certain frequency of radiation. We are able to detect the only strong radiation but by increasing the activated neuron cells one can even feel the low frequency radiation. On constant dedicated meditation, one can see even the dark matter which is still insensible by the hi-tech science. Use of 20% of the brain can give us power to control the body means to control the flow of fluids traveling, hormonal secretion and the thoughts also.Use of brain more than this open the way to enlightenment which had happened in case of Buddha, Ramakrishna Paramhans, Nigamananda. Their brain became so developed that they were able to retrieve the weak radiation that contains the information about past. Radiations emitting from matter never get extinct, only with time it gets weaker and weaker. The stars we are seeing in this sky are their past view. There is nothing in this world that we see their present condition. Even our image at mirror also lack some micro-seconds.Whatever happens and going to happen in our life is involved with continuous emission of radiation. Present radiation is only stronger but the past and future radiations are weak. Weak doesnt mean they are not present; it shows that they are sufficient weak to get identified by our normal brain. Individuals with more than 60% of activated neuron cells can interpret these poor radiations and can say our past as well as future. Past radiations are already present so its easy to figure out but future radiations tell us to guess where the radiation will meet and this is quite difficult. Only persons with high conscious level can join these radiations.Stephen Hawking who is the greatest theoretical physicists is suffering from motor neuron disease. Inspire of this he had seen the space in such an extraordinary way which is not possible by a common brain. His researches on black hole still amuses the practical physicists that how a disabled person can interpret on such theories which is not possible by using modern equipments and devices. The reason behind this is his constant thinking on a subject. When one constantly meditates on something then the atom of his body vibrates. These vibrations produce energy which increases the temperature of body. There is a thread like structure in semi-fluid state at the end of spinal cord. With increase in temperature, this fluid rises up through spinal cord and strikes the brain. It produces a high impact which ultimately activates the dormant neuron cells. It increases the capacity and receiving power of the brain.Brain is the most powerful thing in this universe. With the help of this one can see even the soul which are mainly confined in the spiritual world. Souls are nothing but energy with very low frequency. These energies also carry all the information of its previous life. Only a develop brain can detect the soul, can feel its presence and extract the information from it.Lastly, I would like to quote some proverb on it said by renowned persons.Everything is matter. Match your frequency with the frequency of your thoughts. There is none other way but you will get it.-Albert Einstein.Whatever we plant in our sub-conscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality. THE PURSUIT OF GREATNESSWith the advent of needs, desire, luxury, greed, lust, hunger, man forgets his ambitions of childhood- the pursuit of greatness. Who doesn't want to be great? Everybody does, even if they don't, sometime in life they did. As children when our responsibilities were being carried out by elders, we had been thinking of uncountable dreams and achievements. But as time passes, as responsibilities dawn upon us, we seldom remember those beautiful thoughts and mostly put them aside as being insignificant. And this is just a fragment of the gigantic answer as to where we lose ourselves. Our enthusiasm dies due to many reasons but the only problem lies within us. The basic need is to have self-confidence on terms that we can be successful. Until optimism is acquired, greatness and success both equally remain enigma.People dream and dreaming is good. Making dreams your master is the unacceptable goal. For instance, some people aspire to be doctors and the basic desire is to serve and not earn. Earning comes on its own if you have the knowledge in yourself. Aiming at earning instead of learning is a fantastic example where we fail. And we fail here because we tend to, not because we are bound to. There exists a 'retirement age' in services which marks the end period of a job. The same 'retirement age' is invalid for people who don't live to live, but love to live. They see life from a child-like perception; everything can be acquired and many years are yet to come. We perish ourselves the moment we start planning the future instead of working for today. Future is an abstract which is meant to be seen or imagined and not planned. Planning without action and action without planning both are equally destructive and that is also where we fail reaching our goals. There remains a plan we have to follow and the requisite actions that are to be executed. Most of us never care about our dreams because we prefer seeing them at night than during the day.Today we have bestselling motivational authors like Robin Sharma and Shiv Khera, the books of whose have been sold in millions. But have all the million people who bought the books on success, really became successful? Let suppose all of them turned successful, have all become great? To get the answer behind this question, I ask you to meditate on just one sentence, "Cooks are many, chefs are few". It incurred in my mind when I was randomly filling up forms for my admission to UG courses. I heard from people:"Opt for Commerce, banking sector is booming","Geology is awesome. Try for ISM Dhanbad and once you get there, you have assured placement in a central govt. job","Why don't you go for English Honors? You are so good in the subject","With Make in India policy by Modi Government, computer and IT sector has the brightest future. You must go for it".Indeed, there are various opportunities but it is you who has to decide where you can enjoy and reach your goal. What is better for you remains known to just you. People make you see from their perspective; it's true. But the ultimate one is you who needs to judge yourself. Discovering yourself is the first pursuit of greatness. Finally, when I decided to opt for Computer Science and Engineering, a relative expressed, "The subject is perfect for you. You sit in front of the computer for ten hours a day, and you love it so much so I think you will excel in it". I was amazed at those words which continually whirled around in my head. The mentioning of the average duration was the biggest irony. I thought, 'Even the owner of the cyber cafe near our home sits in front of the computer for ten hours or even more, how has he excelled?' The definition of success differs from person to person so he might have become successful but has he been able to turn great? How many people are familiar with Bill Gates (owner of Microsoft) as compared to Munna Patel (owner of a nameless cyber cafe)? If observed from a different dimension then we observe the deeds are somewhat similar, then why this vast difference? My perception in Shiv Khera's words is that "Winners don't do different things, they do things differently".That success which isn't great is not a success in true meaning. If success means a job, happy parents, marrying a girl from a high profile family, children going to school in Audi car, then your success is in the riches, not greatness. As such you did nothing different than what many others did. If you believe that you are born for a unique reason, then you wouldn't waste a thought to make your coming to this world valuable. The basic enthusiasm which makes us strive has to remain ignited till the goal is achieved. Once you become great in true sense, you can feel greatness fill your mind with indefinable spirit. Great people don't have to shout about their presence, their silence speaks about it. Great people neither say to lead nor to follow, but to walk like friends till paths divert and bid adieu. They are great who know to smile even when they subside the pain within, for they know the ultimate aim is to spread happiness. Greatness is not achieved believing in someone other than yourself. Always remember, "To lead the crowd, you have to be apart from it, not a part of it". If you have faith in yourself that you can do great, then nobody can stop you in your pursuit of greatness. ONENESS IN SOCIETY'There no can be human rights without women's right. Women's right is worldwide.'The emancipation of women, the achievement of full equality between the sexes is essential to human progress and the transformation of society. Inequality retards not only the advancement of women but the progress of civilization itself. The persistent denial of equality to one-half of the world's population is an affront to human dignity. It promotes destructive attitudes and habits in men and women that pass from the family to the work place, to political life, and ultimately to international relations. On no grounds, moral, biological, or traditional can inequality be justified. The moral and psychological climate necessary to enable our nation to establish social justice and to contribute to global peace will be created only when women attain full partnership with men in all fields of endeavor."There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless the condition of Women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on only one wing."- SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

The systematic oppression of women is a conspicuous and tragic fact of history. Restricted to narrow spheres of activity in the life of society, denied educational opportunities and basic human rights, subjected to violence, and frequently treated as less than human, women have been prevented from realizing their true potential. Age-old patterns of subordination, reflected in popular culture, literature and art, law, and even religious scriptures, continue to pervade every aspect of life. Despite the advancement of political and civil rights for women in America and the widespread acceptance of equality in principle, full equality has not been achieved.

The damaging effects of gender prejudice are a fault line beneath the foundation of our national life. The gains for women rest uneasily on unchanged, often unexamined, inherited assumptions. Much remains to be done. The achievement of full equality requires a new understanding of who we are, what is our purpose in life, and how we relate to one another an understanding that will compel us to reshape our lives and thereby our society. We stand at the threshold of a new century and a new millennium. Their challenges are already upon us, influencing our families, our lifestyles, our nation, our world. In the process of human evolution, the ages of infancy and childhood are past. The turbulence of adolescence is slowly and painfully preparing us for the age of maturity, when prejudice and exploitation will be abolished and unity established. The elements necessary to unify peoples and nations are precisely those needed to bring about equality of the sexes and to improve the relationships between women and men. The effort to overcome the history of inequality requires the full participation of every man, woman, youth, and child.
