Question 1

We asked a higher percentage of males for the questionnaire. This means the answers are from a male point of view. Even though, there is a higher percentage of males we still had a high percentage of females that had an input into what they would like us to create.

Question 3:

The people answering the questionnaire mostly don’t like short films. We need to find a way to encourage people to like short films. One of the reasons they could dislike short films is because they don’t really watch them.

Question 4

From the questionnaire, we now know that the audience prefers and likes comedy. As well as this, they are interested in drama. Slice of life however is not one of the preferred genres. So what we need to do is focus on the conventions of drama.

The questionnaire asked whether people like our production name “RAM”. It came with mixed reviews but as a group we have decided to keep our production name as it is.

The question has a positive outcome for our short film. This is good for us when editing and planning our short film because we can do an extra bit of editing without having the public disagree with us and the choices we make. This is not about including subtitles.

This has come out how we expected it to. When doing early research we found a nice video that included this technique. This type of editing would not fit into the story we are trying to make. From the response of the questionnaire, this is one of the editing techniques we will not use.

We asked the public what type of ending they would like to see. There are many different types of ending we could have for our short film. The most popular endings are surprise, twist and happy. We should try to incorporate one or more of these. We should stay away from angry and ad as these were the lest popular.

This is a contrast to the answers to question 4 because slice of life was the lest popular on that question. This question has proved that people like slice of life films but it may not be their favourite genre.

The most common time period was present. We did not specify what years would make the past, present and future. We believe the audience though the past was 100 years or more. We believe the past would still be a good idea to be used but make it as close to being present day as we can, so more of the audience would enjoy our films.

From the questionnaire, we should keep to one storyline, to keep the audience interested. More of the audience we asked for our questionnaire like one storyline. We have to incorporate this into our film.
