1. Student Photos: Please ensure orders are in by the due date: November25th. You may follow ordering instructions on the form or return the completed form with the exact money to the office by the same date. Thank you.

2. Parents New to Canada Information Session: Ms. Lily Zhou (Quilchena’s Settlement Worker in Schools) and

Mrs. Wallace will be hosting an information session in the Library at 1:30pm on Monday,

November 25th specifically for our ‘new to Canada’ families. Please spread the word to those parents who would benefit from learning more about school practices and community resources. Thank you.

3. Report Cards: Students in Divisions 7 and 8 will receive Term 1 report cards on Friday, November 29th. All other divisions are participating in the Student Reporting Policy Pilot and the Communicating Student Learning Updates will also be available on this day. Please take some time to read these reports together. We hope that families pay close attention to the efforts of our students and are able to reflect and work on a plan for each child’s goals.

4. Winter Sports Day: on January 31st all of our students will be spending the day at the Richmond Olympic Oval. We are calling the event a Winter Sports Day. Students will be participating in a number of activities such as skating and ga-ga ball, led by leaders from the Richmond Oval. We will be sending home a notice in the

new year however; we would like parents to be aware that we will be

asking you to drop your child off at the Oval on that day (Jan. 31st). More information to follow.

5. Volunteer Interpreter Recruitment : The district is looking for volunteers to join their pool of interpreters for parent-teacher conferences and community events. Volunteers are screened (including a criminal records check), trained through a six-session program and provided with ongoing support. See the poster below for more information.
