New Year NEW 100% British Made quilts
Quilts by Lisa Watson are a 100% British Made collection of traditional heirloom quilts with a contemporary twist.
Since the beginning of the year Lisa has been stitching new Summery quilts, 10 in total, some from Liberty of London print fabrics and some out of Designer Guild print fabrics. All quilts will be stitched in Lisa’s signature strip design. As with all our collections, we only stitch our quilts in limited runs, so once they are gone they are gone…These quilts will be showcased at Country Living Spring Fair at BDC Islington from 18th to 22nd March. In addition, Lisa is working with a knitwear designer to create a new range of quilts inspired by traditional Fair Isle knitting with a contemporary twist.
For Lisa’s first collection of quilts last year, she created five gorgeous Harris Tweed and sumptuous velvet quilts, all trimmed with distinctly British fabrics from traditional Colefax and Fowler, 50’s retro Angie Lewin, contemporary Tinsmiths and rising star Annabel Perrin's Hemlock. All of Lisa’s quilts are high quality heritage products for people to covet.
Lisa’s quilts are made in Britain with all the components sourced from British manufacturers. Why a passion for British Made? Now is the time to celebrate and invest in the quality, heritage and expertise of British manufacturing and goods. There is a real buzz, quite rightly around British Made goods. Lisa lives in Manchester and the North West has an amazing textile heritage. Greater Manchester particularly is currently experiencing a real bubble of business opportunity and Lisa is so enthused to be part of a renaissance in British textile manufacturing. Lisa’s quilts are now being stitched at Artisan Furnishings in Bolton, who also make and hand finish curtains and blinds for John Lewis, so the quality and attention to finish in every stitched quilt is ensured.
