IAEA Collaborating Centres
Collaborating Centre concept is to add value to and to leverage synergies by:
o Sharing research advances, scientific information, knowledge and experience with Member States
o Increasing stakeholder participation in efforts to implement norms and standards
o Improving project and programme identification, design, delivery and management
With this in view , in the area of radiation processing the following five
organizations have been designated as IAEA Collaborating Centres:
1. Malaysian Nuclear Agency (MNA) for radiation processing of natural polymers and nano-materials
(2006)
2. Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT), Poland, for radiation technology and
technological dosimetry ( 2010)
3. The Advanced Radiation Technology Institute (ARTI) of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute
(KAERI), for environment remediation, advanced materials and food irradiation (2012).
4. The National Centre for Electron Beam Research (NCEBR), USA, for food, health and
environmental applications (2014).
5. National Institute of Nuclear Research (ININ), Mexico, for safe operation, maintenance and
upgradation of gamma irradiation facilities (2017).
