Railmark has railroad operating experience throughout the world. This broad experience includes rail network planning, infrastructure rebuilding, operations, railcar refurbishment, track maintenance, rail station design, and economic analysis.

Current domestic railroad operations are located in California and Ohio, USA with an additional operation under development in Michigan, USA.

Railmark Africa Limited is presently designing and constructing rail lines in western Africa and anticipates launching limited rail operations later in 2020 with further network development ongoing. Railroad operations are also being planned in the Caribbean.

Railmark’s US railroad operations are Yreka Railroad Company, Railmark Industrial Railway Inc., Detroit Terminal Railway Inc., and Train Travel, Inc. (beginning in 2020). In addition, Railmark has offices and service centers in 18 US cities.


Railmark Track Works Inc., a Railmark subsidiary, performs track construction and maintenance in multiple US markets where the company either has an operating railroad or one of its Railmark Rail Service Centers. Railmark’s Rail Service Centers are designed to perform track work, railcar repair, and rail logistics from the same facility using the same local teams. Railmark Track Works has two additional divisions, ECOrail Products and Railmark Technologies, specializing in products and technologies that enhance railroad operations.

ECOrail™ Products Division (www.ecorail.net) – Manufactures and sells high performance, environmentally-safe consumable products. These include ECOtie™ concrete rail ties (sleepers), ECOwash™ rail equipment cleaning solution, ECOdeck™ special wood preservative for railcar decks and linings, wood rail ties and bridge members, and ECO-SAFE™ bio-based rail lubricants.


ECOtie sleepers are 15% stronger than any others in the market and utilize a sealing process making them resistant to water and allowing for longer life.

ECOdeck is a polymer ceramic nanocomposite technology used for preserving and protecting wood used in railcars as well as wood sleepers and bridge members.

ECO-SAFE bio-based lubricants include environmentally-safe switch lubricants, top-of-rail friction modifier, hydraulic oil, universal tractor hydraulic fluid, and solid stick lubricants.

Railmark Technologies Division – Railmark offers secure internet and intranet communications for rail operations in remote and undeveloped areas where internet is limited or not currently available. Railmark uses state-of-the-art drone technology for track maintenance and inspecting rail networks. Railmark has also developed a modern, cashless passenger ticketing system, plus offers rail equipment heating products using a proprietary far-infrared (FIR) heating technology.

Railmark Rail Services Inc. offers four groups of rail services:

Industrial Rail Switching – Railmark provides fully integrated industrial rail service programs including dedicated plant switching, track maintenance, railcar repair, and rail logistics, into a single package, creating safe, cost-effective and efficient operations.

Rail Logistics – Through its network of owned and partnered rail facilities across the U.S., Railmark provides rail shipment planning, rail transloading, warehousing, storage, port services, and domestic and international intermodal container shipping. Railmark also offers single source transportation programs for products between North America and Africa or China.

Railcar Fleet Services – Railmark performs railcar maintenance services on both freight and passenger railcars and can provide complete railcar fleet management and maintenance programs utilizing its network of owned and partnered US rail facilities. Railmark can also source and provide rail equipment on a lease basis.

Rail Network Planning – Railmark’s principal network planner is an accomplished rail economist with direct railroad experience in over 60 U.S. and 35 international railroad networks, offering top to bottom rail planning with demonstrated economic sustainability.

Railcar Reconditioning – Railmark Rail Services can recondition or repurpose railcars to customer specifications while ensuring they meet all railroad regulations.

As an example, from 2012-2014 Railmark supplied and mechanically refurbished seven Budd passenger cars and a power car for Ferromex's (FXE) Health Train. The Health Train launched successfully in 2014 and has served hundreds of thousands of Mexican citizens living in areas without convenient medical care. Ferromex selected Railmark based on its extensive passenger train experience. All railcars were reconditioned and certified for 110-mph (177 kph) service. Refrigerated Boxcars – Railmark is launching a new line of modern, next generation refrigerated boxcars and containers later in 2020 and is currently finalizing orders.

Railcar Parts – Railmark sells certain wear parts for passenger railcars and castings for freight railcars through the Railmark Marketplace operated through Railmark Rail Services Inc.
