Pithead coal stock 935. SHRI A.K. SELVARAJ: Will the Minister of COAL be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that the Coal India Ltd.’s (CIL's) depleted pithead coal stock of around 24 million tonnes in the winter season, improved to around 54 million tonnes towards the end of the fiscal year, backed by increased stocks at the power plants which now has 30.4 million tonnes or 18 days of coal stock; (b) if so, the details thereof; and (c) whether it is also a fact that the power plants were demanding more coal and wish to have the stock of coal for more than 20 days at least? (a) whether Government is aware of thecases of employment obtained against theposts reserved for Scheduled Castes andScheduled Tribes on the basis of fake castecertificates in South Eastern CoalfieldsLimited (SECL) during the last three yearsand the current year;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether Government has got thesecases investigated;

(d) if so, the details thereof and the actiontaken against the delinquents by theMinistry; and

(e) the steps being taken byGovernment to check recurrence of suchcases in future?

Pithead coal stock

935. SHRI A.K. SELVARAJ: Will theMinister of COAL be pleased to state:

(a) whether it is a fact that the CoalIndia Ltd.’s (CIL's) depleted pithead coalstock of around 24 million tonnes in thewinter season, improved to around54 million tonnes towards the end of thefiscal year, backed by increased stocks atthe power plants which now has30.4 million tonnes or 18 days of coal stock;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) whether it is also a fact that thepower plants were demanding more coaland wish to have the stock of coal for morethan 20 days at least?

Importing coal from Australia

(a) whether Coal India Ltd. (CIL) andother agencies have any responsibility torestore abandoned or decommissioned coalfields;

(b) if not, action plan drawn byGovernment for technical and biologicalreclamation of such coalfields;

(c) whether Indian Council of ForestryResearch and Education (ICFRE)commissioned by CIL, has submitted itsreport on indexing of environmentalperformance of coalfields; and

(d) whether any assessment of thereclaimed coalfields has been done fromeconomic angle?

Growth in rake loading by CIL

(a) whether it is a fact that backed byimproved rake loading, Coal India Limited’s(CIL's) dispatches to the power sectorclimbed to touch 488 million tonnes asagainst 454 million tonnes supplied in thefiscal year 2017-18 which is a growth of7.45 per cent;

(b) whether the percentage growth inrake loading for the power sector is higherthan the average rake loading growth of5.6 per cent during the fiscal year 2018-19as Coal India on an average loaded 280.7

rakes per day as against 265.8 rakes in thefiscal year 2016-17; and

(c) if so, the details thereof?

Private players in coal mining

939. SHRI RITABRATA BANERJEE:Will the Minister of COAL be pleased tostate:

(a) whether large number of privateplayers have received projects for coalmining business by securing developmentcontracts for mining from State-ownedcompanies and if so, the details thereof;

(b) the list of top ten private companieswhich have worked for the State-ownedcompanies and the value of projects doneby each of them;

(c) whether the State-owned companieslack expertise in coal mining business andif so, the steps taken by Government tomitigate this; and
