Can be used with the main printing systems: letterpress, offset, blind embossing, hot-foil stamping, thermographic and screen printing.The surface has no porosity, so that inks do not dry through absorption into the media. Polymerisation in offset printing from the sheet takes place by means of oxidation, so that inks for plastics should be used. Excellent results have been achieved with U.V. inks and in web offset printing with Heat Set inks. The anchorage of the ink, once dry, is very good. It is also particularly important to check the other process variables, especially the fountain solution, which must be dosed at minimum levels to ensure that emulsioning is kept within modest levels. We recommend a buffered pH of 5÷5,5 with 800÷1200 µS conductivity. It may be appropriate to add small quantities of additives to the fountain solution and/or the ink to accelerate the ink polymerisation process. Anti-setoff spray powder is useful and low output stacks are necessary; we advise against the use of varnish online if used to avoid setoff. Drying times depend on the quantity of ink and process variables and may vary from 8-10 hours to more than 24 hours. In this regard, good results are obtained with UCR and GCR grading to reduce the mass of ink deposited on the paper. In screen-printing, and even hot foil stamping, we recommend inks for plastic-finished surfaces. For hot foil stamping reproductions with colours Coal Mine, Shiny Blue, Graphite, in specific hygrometric conditions, or using unsuitable foils it can arise problems like oxidation or speckled printing, especially using colors like Golden, Silver or Metallic. In order to give total solution to this problem it is necessary to isolate the film for hot stamping printing from the paper: it can be done either with a plastic coated surface, a double hot stamping printing (making sure to use a white or transparent film before the printing metal band), or with a printing water-based or solvent varnish.

It is particularly important to check other print variables, particularly the fountain solution, which must be kept to minimum levels to ensure a correct balance between ink and water. We recommend a pH of 5-5.5 with conductivity 800-1200 µS. Additives may be useful in small quantities to accelerate the polymerisation process of the ink. Anti-setoff spray powder can help, and paper stacks should be kept small. Varnishes should be tested before using to guarantee the effectiveness. Drying times will depend on the ink load, and from the variables of the process, but they can vary from about 8 hours to more than 24 hours. Good results have been obtained using UCR (Under Colour Removal), GCR (Grey Component Replacement) to reduce the ink coverage on the paper. For screen-process we suggest to use inks for plastics.

Splendorlux/E ensures excellent results in UV varnishing. The surface roughness typical of embossed papers may give rise to micro defects with plastic laminating caused by incomplete adhesion of the film to the substrate. In folding and gluing processings we recommend the use of adhesive glues with high tack , and we suggest the“milling” of the bonding area. We recommend the creasing before the folding.

printingsuggestions

The shiny finish of Splendorlux/E Premium White ensures very bright printing results with excellent contrast and colour satu-ration. It can be used without problems with the main printing systems: offset, blind embossment, hot foil stamping, thermo-graphy and screen printing. For offset printing, it’s preferable to use oxidative drying inks or UV inks particularly in the black ver-sion. During offset printing, it is important to check the wetting solution in terms of both pH and conductivity. We recommend to use isopropyl alcohol to minimize emulsification. For better set-ting and drying control, avoid using too much ink and use a dry spray powder and ink drying additives as required. When prin-ting on both sides the Premium White version it’s good practice to print the uncoated side first. For hot foil stamping, we suggest to use hot foils for plastic supports. In the case of particularly large printing areas, we recommend to use round/flat hot stam-ping machines.

applicationsPergamenata is a de luxe cloudy paper obtained with a specific and extended fibre refining process in special “Beater” refiners and a particular running of paper machine. It is ideal for de luxe pubblications, art printings, prestigious certificates.

printingsuggestions

Can be used without problems with the main printing systems: letterpress, offset, blind embossing, hot foil stamping, thermography and screen printing. The product is highly sensitive to hygrometric and temperature variations. We recommend to pay attention in conditioning before use and during the manufacturing stages. The surface is well sealed and therefore it is recommended to use inks for plastics or oxidative drying inks. The printing pressure setting must be adequate to this media (on the average higher than a normal uncoated paper). In thermographic process we recommend to set oven temperatures at minimum levels.


Varnishing and plastic laminating must be assessed in advance. The surface roughness typical of uncoated papers may give rise to micro defects with plastic laminating caused by incomplete adhesion of the film to the substrate. The paper is very close-grained, it has low compressibility: in the guillotine trimming, and in folding too, we suggest to employ used blades in order to prevent cutting edge thread. Check carefully the scoring, because the paper, once folded, becomes fragile. Also the binding and the glueing are feasible, still we suggest to do tests to avoid curling problems or other inconveniences.

applicationsSplendorlux 1 Premium White is a Solid Bleached Cast Coated Board (GGZ), with light matt coating on the reverse side. It’s particularly appreciated for converting uses in packaging, folders, soft covers, postcards, coordinated graphic materials and displays.

printingsuggestions

The shiny finish of Splendorlux 1 Premium White ensures very bright printing results with excellent contrast, detail and colour saturation. It can be used without problems with the main prin-ting systems: offset, blind embossment, hot foil stamping, ther-mography and screen printing. For offset printing, it is preferable to use oxidative drying inks or UV inks. During offset printing, it is important to check the wetting solution in terms of both pH and conductivity. We re-commend to use isopropyl alcohol to minimize emulsification. For better setting and drying control, avoid using too much ink and use a dry spray powder and ink drying additives as requi-red. When printing on both sides, it is good practice to print the uncoated side first. For hot foil stamping, we suggest to use hot foils for plastic supports. In the case of particularly large printing areas, we recommend to use round/flat hot stamping machines.


Splendorlux 1 Premium White ensures excellent results in UV coating. Good results are also achieving when laminating. There are no particular contraindications for converting and packaging processes. We recommend the creasing before the folding.

description Uncoated papers and boards certified FSC®. Black pulp-coloured without Carbon Black. It’s extremely light-fast. The substance in 115 gsm is made in single-layer and it’s available with Fiandra E/R 65 embossing pattern. The other substances are off-machine laminated with natural starches water based.

The hot stamping of big areas requires the use of hot stamping machine with flat-cylinder technology.
