Feb mar/ 4, 1970 Number 5 Sparta School Expansion Report Made A Building Program Report from the office of Sparta Area Schools Superintendent Mr. Jos- eph Puvogel. "The request to the Municipal Finance Commission in Lansing for approval of the $500,000 bond program was submitted in Oc- tober, immediately following the voters' approval of additions to the high school and Central ele- mentary school. "On December 26, Governor Milliken signed public act 342 which increased the ceiling on municipal and school bonds from six to eight per cent for 1970. This legislation has started mov- ing the sales on school bonds and, as a result, our bond ap- proval is expected In the near future. "The architectural firm of Mc Millen/Palmer has been moving ahead with plans and drawings for construction bids. If the bonds can be sold by February, con- struction bids can be taken in early March with work beginning immediately thereafter." 0 Practice Teachers At Sparta High Six young people from Mich- igan colleges and universities are completing their practice teaching at Sparta High School this term, according to a news release from the office of the school superintendent, Mr. Jos- eph Puvogel.
