Lead & Counselor Approval
This course utilizes business, self‐employment, marketing, sales, and services concepts.
It is designed to prepare students for success in any career field. The applications
throughout the course allow students to see the connection of entrepreneurship towards a
real‐world environment. Students will engage in higher‐order theory, analysis, and
interpretation, including applying new knowledge and understanding to their own business
plan. They will apply financial principles and practices, analyze characteristics of
successful businesses, and develop all marketing tools for their business.
Students will work together with the Instructor to launch a real business, RCMakes
(www.rcmakes.com). RCMakes will manage the school shop facilities as a public
makerspace and use the school facilities to produce goods and services for sale.
This course can be taken for up to 4 semesters and is designed to lead directly to paid
internships in school-based enterprise (RCMakes).

Teacher Bio
ENTREPRENEUR ENGINEER EDUCATOR TECHNOLOGIST INVESTOR
Mr. Gross is a serial entrepreneur, engineer, educator, technologist, and investor who started his first business at age
12. He benefited from multiple work-based learning (WBL) experiences throughout high school and college. He
holds two bachelor’s degrees from UCSB in Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Studies. He has experience
in engineering, operations, finance and executive management in the following industries: Venture Capital,
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Digital Marketing, Healthcare & Wellness, Additive Manufacturing, Spacecraft
Hardware Systems & Hybrid Electric Vehicles. He co-founded and led Motodyne, Fastclick, Persistence Partners
and Connexity as CEO with multiple successful exits including an Initial Public Offering (IPO). He has served as a
