Our one page complete guide to real food was designed as a practical resource to help you quickly identify your real food options and aid with meal planning and prepara- tion. The guide also shows you which foods should be purchased organic and which foods are “FODMAPs” (foods that cause digestion issues in some individuals), “Goitrogens” (foods that may impact thyroid function in some individuals) and “Nightshades” (foods that contain toxins which cause joint pain and inflammation in some individuals). At Rebooted Body, our philosophy is that nourishing the body with real food---food that your body was designed to eat---is one of the six core pillars of getting a body and life you love. We are against the obsessiveness of calorie counting, tracking, weighing, and using points systems. Those are all outdated approaches that focus on the wrong things and disorder your relationship with food. When you eat real food and apply the other 5 pil- lars to your lifestyle, the “how much” takes care of itself. Liberating. Our one page complete guide to real food was designed as a practical resource to help you quickly identify your real food options and aid with meal planning and prepara-tion.

When you eat real food and apply the other 5 pil-lars to your lifestyle, the “how much” takes care of itself.

Even though it’s only a single page, the Complete Guide to Real Food can be pretty overwhelming at first. So we recommend the “three highlighter technique” in the be-ginning.

Here’s how it works....

With a green highlighter, highlight all of the foods you know you like.

With a yellow highlighter, highlight all of the foods you’ve never tried, but would be will-ing to try.

With a blue highlighter, highlight all the foods you’ve tried before and didn’t enjoy, but are willing to experiment with again.

Now, it’s simply a matter of combining foods to create meals, experimenting with herbs and spices, or finding recipes that incorporate the foods you’ve highlighted.

Using this guide, you can create an unlimited number of meal combinations. There’s two things you should never be on a Rebooted Body lifestyle: bored or hungry.

Even though this is a complete list of real food, it’s important to understand that not all real foods are appropriate for everyone at a given time. The foods you choose are de-pendent on your goals and your individual body.

One of the biggest aspects of healing your relationship with food is learning how cer-tain foods impact your body, your hormone function, your gut, your performance, your brain, and so on.

Armed with this information, you can choose foods that will work best for your specific goals. For example, someone who is working to lose body fat will choose foods differ-ently from someone who is working to heal sugar addiction or perform well in CrossFit.

Someone who is sensitive to nightshades will choose specific foods accordingly and someone who is working to heal their gut will choose a different set of foods.

Hippocrates said, “Let food be thy medicine.” That’s a perfect analogy as there are dif-ferent medicines for different challenges.

I don’t know you or your goals (yet), so I can’t make specific recommendations in this guide, but this is one aspect of the work that we do with hundreds of men and women around the world in our Total Body Reboot program. If you have specific goals that you want help with, Total Body Reboot (or “Reboot” for short) is the place to be.
