St. Mark is an elementary school constructed in the year 1974. It is a single story structure with a gross area of 2287m2. This includes three portables attached to the south side of the building.
General Summary:
Structural Summary:This building was constructed in 1974. The building is sitting on concrete foundation walls with load bearing masonrywalls running up to an OWSJ roof construction. This building is a single story structure. No major work is recommended. Overall, the structure is in Acceptable Condition.
Envelope Summary:The exterior walls are constructed with concrete block, painted. With similar type of concrete block accent pillar plowout to deviate the long wall. Wood Siding for the canopy and articulation at the window area. Wood sidings aredeteriorating. Windows are older version of dark bronze anodized aluminum frame 2 pane vented windows withexpanded metal mesh in front. Roofing observed as modified bituminous membrane SBS system Recommended major works: - Replace wood siding with new metal siding. - Replace caulking at flashing joints and interior caulking around exterior windows. Overall, the envelope is in Acceptable Condition.
Interior Summary:Resilient sheet flooring in classrooms, hallways, general office area and staff lounge, resilient tile flooring in storages,infirmary, caretakers office and some hallways, carpet flooring in library, E.C.S. Room, principal's office and mosaicflooring in students washrooms and shower areas and painted concrete floor finish in change room and mechanicalroom. Walls are painted concrete block, painted gypsum board walls and demountable walls. Major work is recommended: - Install stair handrails to the gym exit. Overall, the interiors are in Acceptable Condition.
Mechanical Summary:Heating is provided by 8 gas fired boilers feeding perimeter radiation and a heating coil within the single Air HandlingUnit serving the site. The control system is pneumatic. Domestic hot water is provided by a gas fired DHWH. Plumbing, sanitary and domestic water lines are in satisfactorycondition. Overall the Mechanical System is in Acceptable condition

Themain entrance faces north and is accessed form the municipal sidewalk by a concrete entrance walkway. The grassedfields are contained within a chain link fence. Asphalt play field to the the west. Grassed play fields are shared with thecity. The site is relatively flat. Drainage is generally away from the building to the east and south. Three portables andconnecting corridor are located on the south side of the school.
