The responsibilities included in this research project were synthesis of new polymer electrolytes

with special emphasis on biopolymers based electrolytes, synthesis of new nanostructured

electrochromic materials; preparation of hybrid materials for electrochromic and super capacitors

applications; preparation of samples, seminars, and presentations to the defense department

along with teaching to junior students.

The responsibilities included for me in the present research project were synthesis of ceramic

nano particles, modification of polymers and ceramics through graft - copolymerization and

various other surface modification techniques, preparation of samples, seminars, and

presentations to the defense department along with teaching to junior students.

Project Title: “Preparation of Some Nano Structural Catalysis”

The project was focused on the synthesis and characterization of two brand new families of

materials: mesoporous ordered polymers and mesoporous ordered organosilicates. The

responsibilities included for me in the present research project were preparation of samples,

seminars, and presentations to the internal department along with teaching to junior students.

Reinforcement in Green Composites”

The research work under this University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) project was primarily

concerned with improving the properties of natural cellulosic fibers by means of Graft co-

polymerization with vinyl monomers. Different types of monomers were introduced onto natural

fiber polymeric backbone with physical and chemical methods for copolymer/ cross linking

reaction in a suitable chemical environment. Polymer composites of grafted and ungrafted

natural fibers were prepared using compression molding technique.

Project Title:Project Title:Project Title:Project Title: “Biopolymers Based Hydrogels for Toxic Ion removal”

The goal of this research project was to synthesize biopolymers (Guar gum) based hydrogels by

using vinyl monomers under different reaction conditions. The swelling behaviour of these

synthesized hydrogels as a function of swelling time, temperature and pH, to establish the

relationship between their structural aspects and swelling behaviour was studied. The

applications of hydrogels in treatment of waste water i.e. removal of toxic metal ions from water

and selective absorption of water from different petroleum fraction-water emulsions, was

thoroughly investigated.
