Biographical history: Hepworth, Charles (b.1943)

Born 17 February 1943 in Quetta, Baluchistan, before the partition of India. Educated at

Daniel Stewart's College (Edinburgh Merchant Company) and the Royal Military

Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). Commissioned into the King's Regiment in 1963. Served

over nine years in the Middle East, including a short tour in Aden in 1967, the Sultanate of

TS ‘Report of the Sandhurst Expedition to the Hadramaut’

giving an account of planning and preparation of the

expedition, the background of the history and terrain of the

Protectorate, a copy of original orders for the ‘Op Magpie’

recce of the junction point of the ‘Western and Eastern

Aden Protectorate with the Yemen’ and a detailed daily

account of the expedition including photographs. The

expedition went from Aden to Ugla, then Ugla to Riyan,

and then Riyan to Aden.
