Section 2 Aims and Objectives1. Aims of the Course

The objectives of the course are to study the behavior of tourist. students will learn why people travel and the reasons why they behave as they do in tourist area destinations, a whole range of factors such as motivations, attitudes, and past travel experiences which impact on people's decision to travel and their decisions as to where to go and what to do, social, cultural and environmental systems within which tourist behavior emerges and is expressed, cross-cultural nature of international tourism, and evaluation of the methods used to manage tourist behavior.2. Objectives of Course Development/Modification

1. To gain a general idea about the behaviour of tourists

2. To be able to explain why people are travelling. 3. To have knowledge about travel products and

services 4. To apply the knowledge and develop the personal

skills for working in tourism industry

1. Course DescriptionThrough critical examination from a variety of social

science perspectives and with reference to empirically researched subject matter, this paper enables students to

have an understanding of and ability to propose explanation for tourist/visitor behavior/s. An additional requisite will be the consideration and understanding of those factors which potentially influence the way tourist/visitors impact socially, environmentally, culturally, and economically on visited destinations including Thai and ASEAN tourists’ behavior, decision-making processes in purchasing, needs,, and motivation. Encourage students to analyze factors both internal and external, which influence tourists’ travel plans.
