Shawn Carey in ASL with VOICE INTERPRETED unless specified otherwise. Advent: A Season of Hope, Love, Peace & Joy Last month, during the four weeks of Advent, we prepared for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. While we, amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, looked for practical ways to observe the holiness of the season in our everyday lives. One of the practical ways was to have an Advent Retreat. The Advent Retreat was offered on Saturday, December 14 th at the Pastoral Center in Braintree. Fr. Shawn led the retreat to guide us nine participants on our Advent journey and reflections. We attended a daily Mass at the Pastoral Center chapel. A fellowship lunch was provided. Advent means ‘Coming’ in Latin. This is the coming of Jesus into the world. During Advent, as we prepared for four weeks before Christmas and remembered the real meaning of Christmas, we emphasized on looking for hope, focusing on peace, expressing joy, and sharing love. Then, we examined our thoughts, reflected more, and prioritized our spiritual lives. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. -Roman 15:13 REGISTER FOR MEMBER OF BOSTON DEAF CATHOLIC!
