Father’s Forum – March 22, 2020 As the world continues to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic, we follow the guidelines issued by government and Church authorities.
Our faith in God helps us to go through such moments in life as we meet the anxiety of the time with the consolation and strength of
faith-filled prayer. We pray and make sacrifices for the sick, the dying, for health professionals and caregivers. We pray the Holy
Rosary, asking Our Lady to bring an end to this pandemic. We pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet asking God’s forgiveness and mercy on
His people. When we are not able to participate in the Mass and receive Holy Communion, we make the “Act of Spiritual Holy
Communion”, asking the Lord to come into our hearts and bring us the healing that we are all praying for. We pray through the saints
who have historically interceded in times of public health crises throughout the centuries: Our Lady Health of the Sick, Saint Roch,
Saint Rosalia, and others.
And please, pray the “Hail Mary” as you wash your hands!
(From the Roman Missal, Mass for the Sick)
O God, who willed that our infirmities be borne by your Only Begotten Son to show the value of human suffering, listen in
kindness to our prayers for our brothers and sisters who are sick; grant that all who are oppressed by pain, distress or other
afflictions may know that they are chosen among those proclaimed blessed and are united to Christ in his suffering for the
salvation of the world. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Please, read the “Diocese Issues Coronavirus Information and Resources” in the March 20, 2020 issue of the Catholic Witness. In
addition to that:
1. The Bishop has directed that priests are to celebrate privately Holy Mass each day during this time using the intentions
already scheduled for the parish.
2. Palm Sunday Mass will not be celebrated publicly. Palms will be blessed and made available at a future time. Because of
concerns of many persons handling the palm, we will not leave palms for public distribution/pick-up at this time.
3. The Masses of Holy Week are not to be celebrated publicly.
4. Both the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses will not be celebrated publicly.
We pray that the Lord may see us through this time and always.
God is good!!! All the time!!! All the time!!! God is good!!!
Fr. Mike

Parish Office Hours At the directive of the Diocese in prudence of the coronavirus
concern, our parish office is CLOSED now thru Sunday,
March 29, 2020. As of right now we are planning to re-open
on Monday, March 30, 2020 from 9am-2pm.
Please watch the diocesan website as well as our website for
updates regarding this matter.
We appreciate your understanding.
If you do not use email or have internet access, you may want
to speak with family and friends who do to stay informed. The
situation is changing daily if not hourly at times and social
media and the internet seem to get the information out the
quickest, which is why most news outlets and organizations
are using the method.

Divine Mercy Sunday - Project Rachel
Ministry “Let the Church always be a place of mercy and hope,
where everyone is welcomed, loved, and forgiven.” –
Pope Francis
Abortion continues to hurt people long after it happens.
Depression, anxiety, nightmares, addictions, strained
relationships, and trouble relating to babies or children
– all of these can be caused or intensified by a past
abortion. The Church desperately wants to help you
heal. Project Rachel Ministry is a confidential,
compassionate, and non-judgmental service that meets
you where you are at then helps you to discern what
kind of help you most need. We then discretely pair
you with people who can help – whether through
confession, spiritual counseling, professional therapy,
small group discussions, or a weekend retreat, there are
many avenues for healing.

and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we
place our worries in your hands. We place our sick
under your care and humbly ask that you restore your
servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace
to acknowledge your will and know that whatever
you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.
