Greetings Church Family,

Christians everywhere are readying themselves for Easter, the ultimate expression of grace; and the resurrection, the most significant symbol of our Faith. We stand with great expectation at Reid Temple as we look forward to what this season will bring.

Guest pastors and preachers will join us for our Seven Last Words worship service here at our North location on Good Friday. I strongly encourage you to mark your calendars and plan to attend. For the first time, our Music and Fine Arts Ministry will host a performance of Easter at the Temple, a dramatic musical presentation of Christ’s passion and resurrection at our North Campus. This year’s theme is, “Changed” and will feature gospel artist Crystal Rucker. Of course, the height of the season will be our Easter Sunday worship experience at each of our three services where we will celebrate God’s victory over death, hell and the grave and His power to reclaim lost souls.

Personally, I am also excited because this month I will release my new book, “Ignite: 50 Days of Prayer That Will Change Your Life.” It is a privilege to share with you, the members of Reid Temple and with others what the Lord has been speaking to me about as it relates to the power and practice of prayer. If applied, I know the principles in this book will truly enhance your prayer life and strengthen your personal relationship with the Lord.

For eight weeks between Easter and Pentecost, I will be preaching and teaching about prayer and we have special services and activities planned that we trust you will find life altering. I believe that if you and I will resolve to seek God with a renewed determination in this season, God will operate in extraordinary ways in our lives and in our church.

Blessings,

Rev. Matthew L. Watley
