Sunday Worship Series - “A New Beginning” That’s what we can say at the beginning of each New Year. In a way, it’s a new beginning. But the birth of Christ is an even greater new beginning! In our winter worship series, we will see how the life and ministry of Jesus is about new beginnings. And as we draw closer to Him through our worship, we will see that every day is a new beginning in Him!

Senior High Youth XJL (Extreme Jesus Lovers) Meeting at 9:30am in the FLC Meeting Room, right next to the Youth Room.
Sunday School for Preschool-5th grade begins in the Family Life Center at the 9:30 and 11am services with worship. The children will then go to their classrooms for the remainder of the lesson, where they can be picked up. Nursery Care is provided at 9:30 and 11:00am in Preschool #106. Adult Bible Studies

The Book of Matthew Study with Jerry Reinertson in the FLC Banquet Room. A new Sunday morning Bible study begins today. The study is a 6-lesson introduction to the basic teachings of Jesus. He is our “Truthful Revealer.” The class meets at 9:30 in Pastor Bo’s office with Pastor Leo Bugtong.
Financial Peace University has begun and will meet for 13 weeks from 9 – 11am in the Resource Room. During this time the average family pays off $5300 in debt and saves $2700. Here is what one recent FPU graduate had to say: "The principles I learned changed my life and how I handle money forever.

Preschool Registration begins January 17 for current families and church members. We offer full and half day programs for children 3-5 years old. Stop by the preschool office for registration forms or visit our website at www.faithpreschoollv.org. Registration opens to the public on February 4 at our Open House at 9:00 am. Call 921.2727 for more information. Growth Group Bible Study Opportunities! Our Winter Semester for small group Bible study is arriving! It will be a short semester because of our Lenten semester which starts the third week of February. So, the classes in this semester will last for only 4 weeks. That’s why we are calling it our “Power Semester!” The classes begin after Sunday, January 22. The curriculum brochure is available today. Please find your favorite class and schedule, and get signed up today! As disciples of Jesus, we want to be in His Word, and here’s a great opportunity! Career Coaching Program - New Session Starting January 23, 2012 Job Hunting is hard work! Attend a 7-week Career Coaching Program and gain the skills you need to conduct a successful, spiritual job search. Each week is taught by experienced HR and management level experts. Come and gain valuable skills, Christian fellowship and learn the professional edge you need to find a job God’s way. Sessions will be on consecutive Mondays, beginning January 23 through March 12, from 6:30-8:30pm at Faith Community Lutheran Church. Enroll at www.faithlasvegas.org. This conference creates a comfortable, educational, and fun atmosphere where teens AND adults can discuss and receive answers on topics like abstinence, dating, what God says about sex, body image, bullying, marriage, parenting, and much more. Special presenters include author and speaker Pam Stenzel, and Christian musical artist Barlowgirl. Dates are Feb 10-12, and will be held in Arcadia, CA. The cost is $60, and registration materials are in the church lobby and on the church website. Space is limited and we’ll stop accepting registrations when the event is sold out. Mark your calendar for the “Kids Helping Kids” Benefit Concert on Sunday, February 12th at 4:00pm. The concert will feature the Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School Band, Hand Bells, and Choir, along with the Faith Lutheran Academy Choir and Hand Bell choir. A Silent Auction and Raffle will take place at 3:30pm in the lobby of the Chapel and Performing Arts Center. While you are there, you can also hear personal testimonies of people who have served in these various mission fields. A love offering will be held to support “the least of these”. This family-friendly day will be filled with inspiration, education and lots of fantastic gifts and prizes. Team Connect is now recruiting greeters for its Feb - May Semester. First Choice Pregnancy Services - Can you file, clean, Share the Gospel, LOVE young women who need Christ, write thank you notes, raise funds, attend an ultrasound, enter data, answer a phone, make repairs, pray? First Choice Pregnancy Services will be holding their volunteer training on 3 consecutive Wednesdays ~ January 11, 18 and 25 at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission from 9am-2pm. There are flyers on the glass counter or on the website. Winter Wear Collection We are collecting blankets, coats, tube socks, hats and gloves for the homeless here in our community. We will continue to collect from now through the end of February. Thousands of people living on the street face the cold night after night. Would you help show them our love through this very simple gift? It is time to send packages To The Troops With Love. This is the 4th year we will be shipping boxes to soldiers both over seas and stateside. We're asking families, small groups, other ministry groups - whoever! - to commit to filling boxes for the soldiers. Boxes will be available after services on Sunday, January 22 & 29 and will be due back by February 5. We will also need names of soldiers or units serving. Please contact Melissa Walsh with any questions, to volunteer to help on Feb. 5 and to submit names. You may contact her at: [email protected]. Mission San Diego: July 21 - July 28 Come be a part of a homeless teen beach ministry, a Sports Camp or a Nursing Home ministry. The cost is $400 per adult and $150 per child 12 and under. Registration deadline is April 1st. Our goal is to grow in our relationship with the Lord through humble service to Him in our region. Spots are limited - sign up today! Through the Lord’s Supper, Jesus comes to us and grants us His eternal gifts! As we prepare to receive the Lord’s Supper, God’s Word encourages us to examine ourselves. The following questions can help you as you prepare to receive the Lord and His gifts: 1) Do you believe that you are a sinner whose hope for eternal life comes from
Christ alone? (Romans 3:23-24) 2) Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and your Savior? (Matt. 16:15-17) 3) Do you believe that Jesus is present in this sacred meal to grant His
forgiveness? (Matthew 26:26-28) 4) Do you, by the power of the Holy Spirit, desire to live a godly life in

“Follow Me”
When Jesus began His earthly ministry, one of the first things on His “to do” list was to call His first disciples. His invitation was simple: “Come, follow me . . . and I will make you fishers of men.” What’s amazing is to see how they immediately responded! No questions like, “Where are we going?” or “How will we fish for people?” or “How long will I be following you?” They simply trusted Jesus and followed Jesus. When Jesus calls us to follow Him as His disciples, we don’t know where He will lead us. But we do know that His will never leads us where His grace can’t keep us. Even if that is to Liberia, West Africa! Today, you will hear from our mission team that followed Jesus to Liberia to help build His kingdom so that others can be followers of Jesus!
