● In 2018, there were 191,512 eviction cases filed in Michigan ○ Eviction filing rate (filings/100 rental households): 17%○ About one case for every 6 rental housing units in the state ○ Evictions cases resulting in eviction orders: Washtenaw County, 22%;

Lenawee County, 39%

● For comparison:○ Eviction filing rates:

■ Chicago, 2010-2017: 3.9% (LCBM, 2019)■ Philadelphia, 2010-2015: 7-7.8% (Goldstein, 2017)■ Hamilton County, Ohio (Cincinnati), 2014-2017: 8.7% (Johns-Wolfe, 2018)
