• 31 SHIPS MOSTLY SAILS ON THE NORTH ATLANTIC.
• THE MILITARY SHIP SAILS ON THE BALTIC SEA.
• THE TRAINING SAILING VESSEL SAILS ON ”EUROPE-WATER”.
• All 33 Ships do weatherobservations every 6 hour (00, 06, 12 and 18 UTC)
• All 33 Ships do manual weatherobservations.
• Total number of ship observations (BBXX) distributed on the GTS in 2006: 8400
• PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE MEASURES BY INSTRUMENTS FROM SMHI (Swedish Meteorological and Hydrolocical Institute).
• WIND AND WATERTEMPERATURE MEASURES BY INSTRUMENTS BELONGING TO THE SHIPS.
PRESSURE-Instrument
PTB 220 (Vaisala) Gives:
* ”NOW-pressure”
* Trend
* Pressure difference 3 hours back in time
(We use no paper on graph nowdays)

Penetronic Pt-100
Meassuring the temperature

Presents the temperature on a display
(No meassuring of humidity)
WIND
• DIFFICULTIES
• 2-3 of our radiationcovers have been destroyed by hard storms this winter.
• Still no TurboWin on our ships …
CHALLENGES• To find out a new smaller radiationcover,
which manage to take hard winds but also the shipvibrations better.
We think we just have find one …
• To implement TurboWin. We are waiting for the ships to get Internet which will happened this or next year.
• To recruite 2 more wessels.
