SHAHARA BRIDGE

عمران حمافظة من الغربي ال�شمال اإىل �شهارة تقع اإليها الو�شول وميكن )90كم(، نحو عنها وتبعد الإداري املركز هي �شهارة ومدينة حوث، مدينة من مديرية ( مديريتني اإىل اإداريًا املق�شمة للمديرية على املدينة تتمو�شع املدان(. ومديرية ، �شهارة اجلبلني املتقاربني ال�شرقي والغربي والذي يطلق عليهما )�شهارة الفي�ش (، و) �شهارة الأمري(، والذي يرتفع كل البحر، �شطح م�شتوى عن م( 3000 ( حوايل منهما ويربطهما ج�شر اأقيم على الأخدود الفا�شل بينهما، فقد كان التوا�شل بينهما يتطلب الكثري من الوقت واجلهد ل�شعوبة الطرق والأخاديد ذات النحدار ال�شديد والتي م( هـ /1905 عام )1323 فبني بني اجلبلني تف�شل من يعد ج�شر الدين حميد بن يحيى الإمام عهد يف الإبداعات الهند�شية املعمارية اليمنية، كما اأقيمت على اجلبل الغربي طريق حجرية مر�شوفة تبداأ من بداية فقد ال�شخور لنحدار ونتيجة الأعلى، اإىل اجل�شر عمارة عليها تقوم لكي عقود بناء اإىل املعمار ا�شطر واجل�شر املر�شوفة الطريق وتعترب املر�شوفة الطريق

Shahara is located 90 km to the northeast of Amran governorate. It can be reached through the city of Houth. Shahara is the administrative center of the district that is divided administratively into two districts (Shahara and Al-Madan). The city is located on the converging mountains; the eastern and the western known as (Shaharat Al-Feish) and (Shaharat Al-Amir), each is 3000 m high above the sea level. The two mountains are connected by a bridge that was built on the groove separating them. Commuting between the two mountains used to require a lot of time and efforts due to the rough roads and highly-sloping grooves. The bridge was built in 1323 A.H, 1905 AD during the Imam Yahia Bin Hameededdein’s regime. The bridge is considered to be one of the Yemeni architectural innovations with the existence of a paved stone road in the western mountain starting from the beginning of the bridge and upwards. Due to the declivity of rocks, the architect had been forced to design arches and erect the paved way upon them. The bridge is a remarkable architectural masterpiece and a great geometric work.

The historical city of Shahara is still existent with all its architectural components (Shaharat Al-Feish and Shaharat Al-Amir), the bridge connecting the two mountains and all the annexed facilities; forts, walls, old gates, mosques, historical schools, old neighborhoods, water tanks and grain mills.
