We invite you to enjoy fine Southern cuisine inspired by Zora Neale Hurston’s classic title, Their Eyes Were Watching God and her hometown, Eatonville, Florida. Eatonville restaurant honors the legacy of Hurston and her contribution to African-American literature and the Harlem Renaissance. Literary references to Hurston’s work are hinted throughout the food, murals, table settings, and the popular “corner store porch.” There is ample space to accommodate small and large parties in our Gallery, Hilltop Lounge, and Zora Neale Hurston Room. Fill your appetite for literature, art, and Southern food at the unique Eatonville restaurant.

The Zora Room The Hilltop Lounge The Gallery Perfect for happy hour gatherings. Features a 12-seat full bar, leather club chairs, and open space for mingling. Not available for private use. (Located on 2nd Floor)
Capacity of 50 seated, 60 standing. Equipped with surround-sound, 42” plasma TV, and a stone waterfall. Perfect for birthday dinners and cocktail receptions. Can be rented for private use with minimum food and beverage purchase of $1,330 (Sun-Thurs), $2,000 (Fri-Sat)
Main dining room with communal tables that can seat parties of 10-12. Entire space accommodates 150 seated, 250 standing. Not available for private use.
The Loft The entire 2nd floor (The Hilltop Lounge + The Zora Room). Capacity of 60 seated, 90 standing. Perfect for receptions. Can be rented for private use with minimum food and beverage purchase of $1,500 (Sun-Thurs), $4,000 (Fri-Sat)
The Patio Entire Restaurant Semi-enclosed patio located in front of the restaurant. Accommodates 40. Available for private use.
Capacity of 250 seated, 400 standing. Available for rental Monday – Wednesday in 4-hour blocks: $30,000. Price includes food and an open bar. (Please inquire with the Events Dept. at 202.332.6432)

Parties of 14 or less may make a regular reservation through the restaurant line: 202 332 9672. Guests will be able to order off the full restaurant menu.
PARTIES OF 14 OR LESS
PARTIES OF 15 OR MORE Parties of 15 and more are required to select a pre-fixed menu (below), and must do so with the Events department: 202 332 6432. Reservations are confirmed once the completed Agreement Form is received. (Large/Private Party reservations are booked in 2-hour blocks only.)
