LIVING FAITH The journey of faith often ebbs and flows, with times when our relationship with the Lord is the guiding force in our lives, and times when we are tempted to turn away from all we know to be true, good, and beautiful. In those moments when we find ourselves struggling with doubt or temptation, we can follow Thomas’ lead and turn to trusted companions, faithful and faith-filled family and friends, who will support us and show us the way from doubt to living faith. Like the disciples who were in the room when Jesus came among them, we too have received the Holy Spirit. Today, let us consider where we are on the journey of faith, turn to trusted companions and the Holy Spirit to strengthen us on the way, and know that the Lord is with us as we live and grow in relationship with Christ.

Today’s Readings: Acts 4:32–35; Ps 118:2–4, 13–15, 22–24; 1 Jn 5:1–6; Jn 20:19–31

We celebrate the sacramental life of the Church to serve the needs of our parishioners and neighbors always with faith, hope and charity to grow in love and service to God and one another. What does RCIA mean? RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. RCIA is the process through which non-baptized adults prepare for their Sacraments of Ini-tiation (Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist), & through which those baptized in other Christian faiths join into full communion with the Catholic Church. How Does One Become a Catholic? The Catholic Church warmly welcomes new members and the RCIA process tries to provide an appropriate spiritual formation according to each person's need. Therefore, the best way to determine HOW you can become a Catholic is to meet with the RCIA Coordi-nator to discuss your specific needs and discern where you are on your individual spiritual journey.

For more information or for help call Fr. Mike Gribbon at the Rectory 718-743-7234.

You are all in our prayers during this trying time.

Praying that you and your loved ones are well & stay safe.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CHANCELLOR Instruction on the Reverent Reception of Holy

Communion during the Time of Pandemic

As you approach the Priest, Deacon or Extraordinary Minister maintain six feet of distance from the person before you.

As the person before you receives, you are asked to make a sign of reverence. This sign is a simple bow of the head.

Receiving in the hand is the preferred method of receiving Holy Communion during this time of pandemic. Why? When one receives on the tongue, there is a greater chance of the minister inadvertently touching your tongue. It is simply easier to avoid inadvertent contact when one receives in the hand.

As you approach the minister, extend your hands, the left palm open over the right. If you are left-handed the placement of your hands can be reversed.

When you come before the minister after bowing, do not move. Wait until the Sacred Host is placed on your palm. Then, move to the side, at least six feet away, lower your mask and place the Host into your mouth immediately. Then replace your mask before returning to your place.

Do not hold anything in your hand. Do not reach out and take or grab the Host from the minister. Allow the Host to be placed reverently into your palm. Do not extend just one hand to receive.

Hold your hands high enough so that the minster can place the Sacred Host into your hand with reverence.
