With Shaft Speed Sensor

Description

The PRD-2K reverse rotation detection Indicator is a microprocessor based intelligent system, designed to detect when

the shaft rotates in the reverse direction. During operation, the PRD-2K fail-safe reversal detection Indicator constantly

and carefully monitors a shaft or any rotating object to ensure that it is turning in the correct rotational direction. It also

displays the speed of rotation of the shaft in RPM in both side.

Precision Relay controller in the unit can be used to interlock the starting circuit of the pump to prevent accidental

startup during a condition of reverse rotation.

Intelligent Microprocessor continuously monitors incoming signal from a speed sensor. A fail-safe relay output can be

electrically interlocked directly to the motor starter circuit and for the pump and another energizes the hooter for audio

visual warning.

Sensor Installation

The Speed sensor is supplied with a mounting bracket, collar, and set screw for gap distance adjustment. Sensors should

be installed allowing the center of the magnets to pass in front of the center of the sensing head during rotation. The gap

distance (A) is dependent on the pulse generator being used. When using a standard 4" Pulser Disc, the center of the

magnetized area of the disc (B) is 1-3/4" from the center hole of the disc.
